Though the first Eternal Guardians were Human, the power to spread peace throughout the land is not limited to Humanity alone. Zumi Guardians came next, with their clever creativity and ingenuity. As more races immigrated to the Central Continent, the need for Guardians grew. Fate began choosing its peacekeepers from a variety of backgrounds, including Anuran, Ursun, and Halfkin.

Playable Races

Although there are many races within the world, currently only five can be played.

Humans

Humans are an intelligent race, originating in the northern continent. As one of the earliest races to colonize the central continent, their cultures tend to be the most diverse and widespread. They've built many cities and even countries within the central continent, and all that remains of their past in the north are a few scattered nomadic tribes.


Zumi

The Zumi are lovers of invention and commerce, with a surprising amount of creativity packed into their petite frames. Having originated from the parched deserts of the southeast, some have theorized that it was this barren existence that opened their minds to the inspirations of the cosmos. They traveled to the Central Continent for its vast trade opportunities. Though they generally mingle peacefully with other races, they regard the Anuran with disdain, considering the frog-people too light-hearted and unappreciated of the scientific arts.


Anuran

The race of Anuran are based on frogs; they used to be shy and somewhat isolated prior to their voyage to the central continent. However, curious after their initial contact with other races, they adapted, becoming an outgoing and companionable race, friendly and welcoming. Their sociological structure evolved as well, and they are now well-known for having a good sense of humor about practically everything. Anuran is known for being a male-only race, as they are the ones who carries the babies, but they can mate with females from other races. It is very normal that the Anuran has two fathers. Anuran characters begin their adventure in Graceland Marsh.


Ursun

The Ursun, a race based on a bear, are a close-knit race from the high mountains of the central continent. History and culture are regarded as sacrosanct among the Ursun, as they have a great deal of both. Several hundred years ago, all Ursun lived under the rule of a great King, but a struggle for the throne divided the kingdom into two warring factions. The usurper failed, but led his followers into the lowlands. Though he is long dead, his followers continue the war to this day. Ursun players start in Ursun Paw Mountains.

Halfkin

Ancient legends say the Halfkin were born of a quirky mother who collected--of all things--teeth, and a diminutive red-bearded father whose footprints were all colored like rainbows. In reality, no one knows where the Halfkin came from. All that is known is that they are more playful than a Zumi, more mischevious than an Anuran, more tenacious than a human, and...well, perhaps not MORE powerful than an Ursun, but at least AS powerful. Those who don't take the Halfkin seriously as Guardians are making a mistake--a mistake they'll only make once.



NPC Races


Though not every race has given birth to an Eternal Guardian, all races still perform vital roles in their world. Some races resent the Guardians, but this is a minority opinion. By and large, all residents are hard workers simply trying to make a life for themselves.

Torturran

Before the rivers opened and filled the sea, the Torturran, a turtle-based race, roamed the land. Ancient beyond measure, this race is renowned for its accumulated knowledge in herb-lore, magic, and lost secrets. Over time, they have become the very symbol of good advice and intelligence. Despite this, a cult has formed within the race. They practice dark rituals, and while they are a minority, their notoriety is growing.

Tuskar

Like the Ursun, the Tuskar originated on the central continent. Their territory has grown along with their population, spreading throughout the lowlands. Though not truly evil, their fierce reputation and vicious nature have earned them little trust. Tuskar seldom think before they act, and often realize that their actions will have consequences only after the consequences have begun.


Drakai

The origins of the Drakai are unknown, and they revel in that mystery. They're extremely social, forming tightly-knit family clusters regardless of blood relations. Beyond this inclination, little else is known about them. They are strong magic-users, not only dabbling in necromancy and destruction, but glorifying them. Despite this, they're somewhat short on brains and are easily manipulated into performing evil acts for others.


Ogres

Ogres spend much of their lives in battle, and much of the rest of their lives picking fleas and lice from each other's dry, cracked skin. They never turn down a fight, but prefer outright slaughter. They would like to rule the Central Continent, but are generally a bit too thick-headed to ever pull it off. Obviously, they believe the best things in life are colored red: blood, raw meat, strawberries, etc.

Take note that all information here is tentative, as currently only humans, halfkin, zumi, anuran, and ursun are available in the English localized version; as such, any race information here is subject to change as the races described are released.
