Yes, Until either the original installer changes version numbers, or a GM removes the post, whichever comes first.

In light of this weeks patch problem, the "Manual Backup Copy" has been updated fully & successfully to the latest client version & patch.

Some players reported not being able to load the game at all, patch failure, immediate crash upon loading.......This Pre-Patched Backup Copy is 100% Working as it should.

*note* Some issues with the graphics engine such as Brightness & Contrast are not available, this was removed by the developers....which I'm assume they're tweaking the graphics engine....

If you run this copy, and still 'crash' or experience the same problems, then the issue does lie in a conflict with your system settings. (Not that your system isn't good enough, or has problems, just that this latest patch is disagreeing Now with some setting on your system or lack thereof) To that extent if you have such problems feel free to contact me with your DirectX Diagnostics Report & PC Wizard Hardware & Configuration reports, and I will go over them with a fine tooth comb to attempt to track down the culprit(s)

I have followed all instructions in the forums. I am unable to download the official client and freeze at initialization. I have installed the unofficial manual release linked in this forum.

I Have a 23-inch wide screen monitor factory default 1600x900. I used to be able to play 1600x900 full screen until recently. In fact, full screen used to be the only way I could play without lag.

Now, upon exit the window defaults to 1280x800. If I log off and log onto another character the window does not change, only upon actual exit of the game.

If I attempt to play 1600x900 full screen the lag is incredible and makes the game not playable, it also involves the window loading in layers with each mouse movement, and a "rubber band" effect in that characters begin moving and then snap back to their original start point.

With this new clean install (registry cleaned) I am able to play in 1600x900 window without the above mentioned issues; however, I would like to be able to play full screen if I choose.

Right. This backup copy is set to default at Window Mode 1024x768 resolution upon initial use.
You can up the resolution, however I suggest staying in window mode until the developers have finished tinkering with the graphics engine, as they have been recently messing with the WideScreen codings over the past several months.

As the year's have gone on, the developers have increased the graphics core strain on the Video Memory usage, in order to handle some of the improvements they have been attempting to introduce.

I notice in your system specs that your video card has 256 Mb of available memory. While 256Mb is the minimum requirements to play LastChaos, I guarantee you , if you upgrade your video card, to one with at least 512Mb or More (preferably 1Gb which is relatively cheap in today's market ....check Newegg.com, they have some very great deals on 1gb Vid cards at low prices).......you're issues will definitely abate.

Even if you were able to play in the past just fine, it's possible that due to the new "tinkerings", what u have just isn't gonna cut the cheese anymore..............

I could also suggest, lowering your Desktop Resolution below the 1600x900 you currently are set at, ........try a 1280x1024 Screen Resolution..........and then see if you can play in full screen at 1280x1024.......

Hmm if 1600x900 is his monitor's native resolution, he probably won't be able to set it to 1280x1024, since that one is higher than his monitor.
Anyway, I don't exactly see the point between desktop resolution and ingame resolution ?

Recently there has been some errors popping up where copying a recently patched game to the computer is the only fix. I don't know why, but something with downloading and installing isn't working. (if your brain can figure it out, then that would be great.)
