[Guide] P2 Auto-Target

You asked for it, You Got It.

Alot of players have been wanting to know the specific details of how to use the P2 Auto-Intelligence Functions, and while some have figured out the simplicity of it, others remain without a clue. Well stress not fellow Irisians, for Apollon is most giving and has heard your cries, and has thus has Muse-ly inspired me to bring it unto you Very Happy

First Lets Get to know the P2 Pet Menu

1.) This setting which looks like a small Light Bulb Icon, is the On/Off Switch for the Auto-Intelligence. By turning the Light ON, the P2 will only execute commands or actions that it has been Optioned to do. In other words, it will not take any action whatsoever, unless you have specified so in the options menu.

2.) This is the AI Options Menu - Here is where you specify what actions the P2 Pet should take when the AI is turned ON.

3.) This "check-box" is the ON/OFF switch for that "Rows" Function. Checking this box will tell the AI to "use this command".

4.) This is the "Target Type". This is where you place the AI Target (found in illustration below)(with further information)

5.) This is the "Function or Skill Box". This is where you place the Function or Skill to be executed.

6.) Completion. Click this button to "Complete" the Setup. You must click Completion every-time you make changes in the AI Options Menu.

Now lets get to know all the different AI Targets (AIT)Very Happy

First Off, Lets note that Some Targets are used with Functions, and some are used with Skills.
Also Note -- [P2] Attack and [P2] Pickup are "Functions" located in the "Player Actions Menu"

1.) P2 Target 1 - "Set the target which the owner attacks as a target among monsters withing 30m" This AIT means that the P2 pet will Attack the same monster that you are attacking. This AIT utilizes [P2] Attack, or one of the P2 Skills which are located in the Pets Skill Menu.

2.) Target2 - "Set the dropped item as a target within a 10m with owner" This AIT means that the pet will pickup any drop within a 10 meter radius of the Player. This AIT uses the [P2]Pickup Function.

3.) Target3 - "Set the monster which owner attacks as an attack target within 5m". This is the same as #1 - Target1. The only difference is the distance specified. For clarification, players with LongRange Attack would use Target1 while CloseRange players would use Target3, however either is acceptable.

4.) Target 4 - "Set the dropped item as a target within 20m" This is the same as Target2 only with increased range. This basically turns your pet into a walking vacuum cleaner sucking up anything nearby. Very nifty for cleaning up Prokion Floor Razz

5.) Target Defense 20M - "Change target to an enemy within 20m that is attacking the pet owner" This means that the pet will attack any monster or player that attacks the player. This option can be used for PVE purposes and uses either the [P2]Attack Function or one of the Pets Skills. This is very useful for casting the "Silencing" skills of the polar bear or jaguar.

6.) Target Counter Strike 20m - "Target and attack enemy within 20m that has attacked the pet" This means that the pet will attack any monster or player that attacks the pet (itself). This is useful for auto-grinding via Aggro/PetAggro/FamilyAggro monsters. This AIT uses the [P2]Attack Function or one of the pets own Skills.

7.) Target Low Hp - "Target owner when owners HP is below 50%" This means the pet will target and "cast skill" upon the Owner when the owners HP goes below 50%. The pet will continuously cast-skill (buff) the player until the player's HP goes above half. This AIT uses the Pets "Owner Buff" Skills, such as the Polar Bears' "Song of Sun" or the Jaguar's "Cheer"

8.) Target Low MP - "Target owner when owners HP is below 50%" This is the exact same as #7 stated above, only it works for Mana (MP) instead of Health (HP)

9.) Target Pet Health - "Target pet when pet's HP is below 50%" This AIT is used with the "Restore Health by In-Game Gold" Skill "First Aid" of the pet. This means when the pets HP goes below half, it will cast its "First Aid" skill on itself and restore it's HP, deducting the amount from the gold supply on the player. The amount is approximately the same as buying Bandages from the Pet Merchant.

10.) Target Pet Magic - "Target pet when pet's MP is below 50%" This AIT just targets the Pet when its mana goes below 50%. It can be used with either "First Aid" or "Curing Hunger" skill........this AIT is pretty much useless as it does not nor has any related functions to restore pets Mana Pool via In-Game gold. There is no function for this command.

11.) Target Pet Hunger - "Target pet when pet's Hunger goes below 50%" Same as stated for #10. Has no relative function associated other than to use "First Aid" or "Curing Hunger" skills.

12.) Target Pet Sincerity - "Target pet when pet's Sincerity goes below 50%" Same as above for #10. No Relative function associated other than "First Aid" or "Curing Hunger"

*** For #9, 10, 11 & 12, I would suggest using #9 Target Health in conjunction with "First Aid". There are no current functions to "Restore Mana" or "Restore Sincerity". Likewise, I suggest using #11 in conjunction with "Curing Hunger" when having your Pet Leveled by another player while you sit AFK....during this time, the more your pet is leveled its hunger will be restore, allowing the leveling process to continue ***

Now Lets see a couple Examples Very Happy

Example 345 -- In this example we are setting up the Pet's AI Functions to automatically pickup any and all gold within a 20 M Radius. This is also known as the "Beastly Vacuum"

1 - Turn on the LightBulb (pet AI)
2 - Open the options menu
3 - Check the box on the function row, to activate that function line.
4 - Insert AIT "P2 Target 4" into Target Box
5 - Insert [P2]Pickup Function into Function Box
6 - Click Completion

Example abc
-- In this example we are setting up the Pet's AI Functions to automatically restore its own health when its HP bar goes below 50%.

1 - Turn on the LightBulb (pet AI)
2 - Open the options menu
a - Check the "Activate Functions" box
b - Insert AIT "[P2] Target Pet Health" into Target Box
c - Insert Skill "First Aid" into Function Box
6 - Click Completion

With both these options enabled, the pet will run auto-suck-up any drops nearby, and auto-heal itself in the event it get's hit by a monster. Nifty eh??

There are many useful ways to use the AI Target Functions, from Silencing your enemies, to even Auto-Grinding your own character.......hmmm sounds interesting doesn't it.

GOOD JOB KARMA

owner buffs that need a CONDITION to met so as to be buffed by the pet eg. mana belo50% hp below 50% i think this needs a re think yes agreed a condition must be met for the pet to know when to cast buffs , my suggestion is to create an OWNER skill buff wwhich they use purely to create theis condition so that the pet does ai..... this owner buff should be a npc purchased buff lasting a month, then the toon simply buffs this buff then let the pet do the rest

just a thought cheers

just because my star box is empty it doesnt mean im not trying to help...

Target Defense and Target Counter-Strike do not work in PVP. Defense does not cause the pet to target and attack another player, and Counter-Strike doesn't work because currently you cannot PVP a pet. (although they can be hit by indirect AOE's such as War Stamp, the hit will not cause the pet to target and attack the player)

The skill "Curing Hunger" will only be cast once, afterwards all AI functions (including this one) will cease to work until the pet is un-equipped and re-equipped. I posted this in the official bug reporting section.

Nifty in theory, however, when using the skills "First Aid" or "Curing Hunger" in conjuction with AIT's the skill will only be cast once and all AIT Funtions will stop working until the pet is un-equipped/re-equipped.

Just thought i would point those tidbits out : )

This is a great guide! I've used p2 pet targets for a while and love them. The 'Vacuuming" is particularly effective ^^

*Note* Making your pet cast an owner buff while 'vacuuming' can cause errors.

No, at the current moment only 3 AI's are available.
However, since they were once all 6 available, this subject is being inquired upon.
