[SGST] New cleric skills

I've been a cleric for a while now and when the 102 skills came out I was really disappointed because clerics got 2 more useless skills that could have been really useful skills. So I've been thinking for a while and came up with 2 new heals. Clerics are supposed to be the main healer class and we still only have 3 heals at a level it's actually possible to get if you don't buy a load of AP every week...4 if you count Party Heal too even though it's a healer skill. We are still a weak class made for support and I'm ok with that but you should at least give us better heals so we'd be a real healing class.

First is Divine Heal. It's an over time heal that lasts 10 seconds real time/4 minutes in game time (same as Barrier) and heals you a specific amount every 2 seconds. The skill would heal you at 3.5 minutes game time, then 2.5 min, then 1.5 min and lastly 0.5 min so it would be 4 heals per skill. The animation for it could be a bubble just like Barrier only yellow, the icon for it could be the same as well but yellow. Using the skill with Barrier might be a problem and I have 2 solutions but I can't decide which one: The first is that when you cast Barrier and Divine Heal on the same person at the same time the bubble turns to green; the second solution is that it will give you the color of the skill last cast, for example if you use Barrier first and then DH it will give you the yellow bubble and vice versa. I tried getting a good SS of Barrier and coloring it yellow but I couldn't get one so I gave up.

Made some sort of a yellow bubble lol...not the best one but its something >.<


DH and Barrier together



The second skill is an instant heal because when I'm drop farming on higher level monsters sometimes my HP stealer just won't work and I run low on HP and when I start casting heal the monster hits me and I die. Granted, it doesn't happen very often but it's still annoying. With an instant heal you could get some HP back and then use a longer casting heal. The casting for it can be the same as Barrier except you don't get the bubble, just raising the hand in the air. I don't know about the icon for it but I was thinking of a revamped Curse Cure or Disease Cure icon.

I had one more idea for a new skill but I don''t have much on it, can't get my head around it. I was thinking of replacing the level 90 Poison Cure2 for an attack skill, even for a 1 level attack skill. Clerics are the only class without an attack skill and even though clerics are a support class meant for healing they should have an attack skill possibly with a stun because clerics really need a stun/stone/snare.

Also, I'm gonna work on making the icons and skill effects whenever I have time. Or at least some that look like they might work lol.

I agree with any suggestion that actually replace the useless cleric skills, so wouldn't be different with this one. An attack skill before level 150 also would be nice (no real cleric on this game even passed or wil lreach soon 130, except the AP beast called MegaBabe on Katar, but also it is because of AP, because a cleric alone can't do much at sorcs without ap and without a party).

I agree, of course. But I confess that I am so tired to had seen good suggestions and suggest a lot since 2007 and basically see only suggestions being applied on game if they are AP related...

LC: 2 people, same exploit. 1 banned, 1 not banned. Why? Currently playing a better game with much more content. Retired.

I forgot about this thread for a while but I made some changes to the rates and added agrees and disagrees. So come on people, help clerics be a better class Very Happy

I would also like to see a change in cleric skills I have been a cleric for almost all of my lc life (switched to archer shortly and didn't like it) I am now 102 and what I have noticed is that my cleric is way weaker than any other class its level. Yes I win some 1v1s it is very rare. I use a 109-10+15 which should give me a chance to win. What I would like to see is an attainable attack skill to the average level clerics.

Indeed, Clerics are weaker than other classes but you have to know how to play one. When I was around 100 I could kill almost anybody that was the same level as me. You just have to put your stat points mostly in dex and make a dex/int hybrid and get hit rate accs with crit on it...MoD + a crit with a 109-10 at 100 hurts lol. Plus clerics can get out of every stun and stone if you time it right.

I agree ^^ I've got a true lvl 100 cleric on Katar and dont get me wrong i love my cleric and so do other ppl Razz But ive been disappointed with their skills as well Sad i mean really curepoison2? -.- We get dispel that does the same thing....So ive gone back to my mage and probably wont play my cleric a whole lot However if i were to see changes in the skills id most def. lvl her more ^^ :/

Cant believe I missed this. My excuse not been around so much.

I agree wholeheartedly with all above. I am level 91 cleric long time grinder and although she is hard work I love her and have never regretted choosing her. However skills are rubbish and outdated considering so many pots etc used now and solo partying being main method of play nowadays.

Agree to the better healing and in particular would like more attack skills please.

I definatly have to agree here, clerics have some of the worst skills availible. Everyone is talking about how this class is broken and that class needs work, but because there are very few of us clerics we never seem to get heard. i like the idea of these skills to replace the useless ones that are avaible to us. I would definatly sp farm to get these as i have not wasted my time or ap to get the currents skills. Please do not let this topic die ppl just because its about clerics*even if you think the class is worthless, a revamp of some of the skills would make the class so much better.

I hope a GM/PM (hint hint ksilent) sees this and realizes that somebody put some thought into this and that sometimes the players know better what is needed to make class better. I know there is no garuantee(sp?) that the devs will listen, but if it could get added to the list of stuff to be fixed, that would be great. Because the cleric class is broken right now, and gets worse with every big update, ie. EP2 cleric lose of MHR and eva. I don't think we will ever get our MHR or eva back, its been too long, but maybe some better skills then the ones availible would be nice.

And that is just my 2 cents.

I Agree ... Clerics need a skill overhaul

Your ideas are some great ones. I am currently working on making my phoenix a cleric, but after reading about the higher skills as being useless I had to throw my 2 cents in. Wink I am not going to change my mind about making her a cleric, but I would really like to see new and improved skills for this class. I also have a suggestion for a skill.

I call this skill 'Aura of Protection'

This skill allows the Cleric to buff themselves with a protective aura that spans a few meters out from the charc and allows them about 25-35 sec to heal without recieving any damage from attacks and as the charc grows in lvls so does the skill. This allows other charcters in the party to receive the same protection as long as they are within the protected area of the skill.

Let's hope the Clerics can do something in arena other then heal heal heal (what they're supposed to do).
