FPS/Lag Problem

This game has peeked my interest so I downloaded it, installed it. Couldnt wait to play it, played the tutorial and then...

I got outside and it just starts lagging like crazy, extremely low FPS.
My specs are at and exceed the required --> 1.7ghz - ATI Radeon 9600 256mb - 512mb ram - AMD Athlon XP 2100+

I also have the latest drivers and V-Sync is off... Absolutely no processes are running in the background. Also, turning the details down to the lowest does not help, same with resolution (fullscreen or windowed), it actually seems to run faster with higher graphics... Would desktop resolution be a problem? I also suspect that Character detail option might have something to do with the lag, but I cant change the quality, its stuck at max.

If anyone can help me out it would be much obliged.

lag

It's simple
let your computer warm up with the program. Wink then it will run faster. Smile

It may help by increasing virtual memory and defrag your disk.

I to am one of the many people having a problem with getting horrible fps. I ran a test, and I got a maximum of 12 fps with it being within 7-9 most of the time, and as low as 5 at some points. When doing this I had all the settings set as low as possible, and the resolution set to 800x600 with 16bit color.

My system is a Fujitsu N6010 laptop
P4 3.2gig
2gig ram
ati mobile radeon 9700 (128megs dedicated video ram)

between having to play the game with my battery out (hoping not to knock the power cord with its loose connection), and the having the horrible fps this game is starting to become more of an annoyance then entertaining.

Does anyone know if the developers are working on a patch to solve this?

We have reported these issues to the developers, and they have been looking into the issues. As far as we know, it's a challenging problem to solve as the issue appears only on some models but not on others. Therefore, we do not know when the issue can be fully resolved.

Could that also be the issue with the Knights and the swing whiff problem? is it a problem that extends to the FPS thing?

Seems like quite a few people are having this problem. I moonlight as a computer technician - this is definitely not an Internet lag issue, this is definitely a frame-rate issue. Needless to say, I'm experiencing it myself. Here's a list of my specs, for what it's worth.

Pentium IV 2.60 GHz overclocked to 3.12 GHz, Northwood core, passed 12 hour Prime95 test

1 gig of Corsair XMS DDR400 RAM (stock speeds and timing)

ATI Radeon X850 Pro, AGP config @ 256 megs of RAM, R-481 core, stock speeds

All drivers and firmware updated to latest versions as of March 9th, 2007.

All non-essential background processes terminated, including real-time processes / services (anti-virus, etc), running "Windows Classic" theme to conserve RAM.

I can't even get a dime's worth of FPS. The game appeared to be worth a look, but until something is done, the game is downright unplayable.

Hope this gets fixed soon.
