Here's a suggestion for the meebo bar, specifically the Youtube Video feature:

Have a submission feature where AGE community members can submit their own videos and each day or week, 4-5 videos are selected from the submissions and are promoted via the meebo bar.

There are a few ways you could go about doing this, one would be to include a link submission PHP form in the preference section, below the meebo enabler/disabler. I think you could use a Spry-based Validation form to limit one link submission per week/day. Since Youtube already is pretty good at moderating what kind of videos are up on their site, you wouldn't really need to have anyone pre-evaluating the submitted videos and it could all be coded around random selection (but have the capability of manually setting the daily/weekly videos).

Benefits:

You could include a hover icon somewhere on the video that says "sponsored by Aeria Games" which would attract viewers to check out the site.

Would increase the use of the meebo bar and youtube feature, members would check to see if their video was promoted for that day/week, or someone might tell them there is a hilarious/cool video being promoted.

This feature could also be coupled with events or promotions.

I'd congratulate a job well done on giving it an off switch, but this version is the one that should have been released from the start. Please test new content in the future. Please put your coders on making the shoutbox work or replacing it with one that does rather than having wasted a year on making the break room and who knows how long on the meebo thing.

The bar has been extended to most of the site.

I would like it better if the bar were only present on the user profile and PM inbox/outbox pages. Although the lag isn't as bad as it was, it is still problematic in combination with the SB lag since the last "fix" to the SB. Mad
