In the process of uninstalling for a second time and downloading the game for a 2nd time.
I have downloaded so many installers, http file managers, done so many alleged fixes, and generally messed up the current version of Shaiya on this computer that I need to start fresh and try you fix on an unaltered installation.

You used an updater that goes back to a previous version of updater and now I get an error code which has NO fix associated with it. Thanks a lot!

Your initial post in this thread was immediately after my post which stated that this thread is well and truly out of date.
I also linked to an updated version.

Xybolt has pointed you to a thread where a fix to the current updater issues is discussed.

I will try and get this thread unstickied, but if anyone else is reading this thread:

If you are having problems with the official download, please use this thread instead.

if you cannot patch up to version 157 ( the current one ) then i advise to use vafx's unofficial downloader
i am aware that it's complex, but his download is a fully updated one. by this thread, you can get a fully updated thread while "fighting" against the updating issues.
