[Guide] Dark Sprites

Guide & Database
Secret Behind the Destiny Box

As you traverse across Saphael in search of adventure or to simply kill boredom, you might notice once in a while that a mob will leave behind a chest box like this:

This is a destiny box. Picking it up will trigger three possible events:

Possibility #1: You instantly get full both hp&mp heal.
Possibility #2: You become cursed and transformed into a zombie. The buff lasts 3 minutes. In these 3 minutes, your HP will be doubled, your attack power will increase by 50%, but you won't be able to use any of your skills. Changing your form will instantly remove this curse. That includes riding a mount or using any of your disguise masks.
Possibility #3: A Dark Sprite Messenger appears and attacks you. Beware: From maps lv33 onwards, the messenger will be able to use skills.

If you chance upon a messenger, kill it before it kills you!
In the event that you defeat it, it will drop a bag, in which contains one Dark Sprite Emblem.
(If you fought a messenger from one of the high level maps [33+] there's a chance of obtaining up to 3 emblems.)

Secret Behind the Dark Sprite Emblem

At the 6:00pm PST (GMT-8) of every Monday, Wednesday, or Friday, mysterious Dark Sprites will show up in Saphael. (Look at your in-game event tab, located beside the mini-map, for the co-ordinates of these little critters.)

If you happen to meet one, you have the option of turning in a Dark Sprite Emblem. One emblem is worth 30 reputation points with the Dark Sprites.

Once you have 1000 reputation pts, you can turn in 2 emblems for a random prize. Requires Lv30 to open.
Once you have 4000 reputation pts, you can turn in 4 emblems for a random prize. Requires Lv40 to open.
Once you have 9000 reputation pts, you can turn in 8 emblems for a random prize. Requires Lv50 to open.

Similar to the jelly rabbit turn ins, you get a box. Right click the box and you will get, but not limited to, one of the following:

  • Potions
  • An item that boosts a certain resistance by +10 for the duration of 3 minutes
  • A Dark Sprite cape

*At 9000 reputation pts (max.) you will be able get the title Dark Sprite Messenger.

Wonder if I missed anything...
Things I don't know yet:
Whether the higher level capes will be bigger? The image shown is a lv30 cape.
What other prizes can be obtained from the emblem-exchange?

Nice guide, lots of info. The only thing I would say is that summoning a mount no longer ends the curse status. I believe this was fixed in the patch before this last one. Maybe one before that. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. Again, nice guide!

nice work, although i was under the impression that it was 6pm EST. Guess i gotta pay attention next time. And if your wondering, no returning a dark sprite to nature will not give you dark sprite reputation.

It is 6 PM EST. Whilst Aeria uses PST, the server time and thus any times in the event window are EST. Needs to be corrected, other than that, great guide.

Similar to the Jelly Rabbit capes, it restores HP and MP on a single cape. The effect for each is less potent, but you're getting both on a single cape vs a single HP/MP on the Jelly Rabbit ones.
