AVG 9 and Wolf Team

If you have AVG installed and can no longer play WT, read this!
So AVG 9 came out a couple days ago, and ai upgraded... Now ai can't play Wolf Team! When ai start WT, and after the gameguard screen it hangs. Ai check task manager and it shows avgrsx.exe at 99% and not any sign of the WT process.

My theory is that AVG is somehow hanging WT up, as evident when ai kill avgrsx.exe, WT starts, although it hangs and forces me to hard reboot my comp. >.> Ai CAN play though, if ai disable AVG Resident Shield, as well as link scanner, email scanner, AND search shield.

Can anyone tell me a way around this, WITHOUT having to disable AVG every time ai want to play?

Thanx in advance.

AVG fix

I posted a fix in a different thread with the thought maybe the moderator will sticky it for everyone to look at, but here is a link to it. Yor problem with the hang is more than likely the "Resident Shield" so i would make sure to do that fix in your situation.

Ai forgot to mention that ai DID add the Wolf Team directory to resident shield, but it does not help at all. And since ai am running AVG free, there is no "firewall" feature, so ai'm still stuck unable to play WT without disabling all the AVG components.

Thanx for the try tho... =/

I would try to add ever folder individually including the main WT folder after deleting what you have there now, sometimes you need to retry a fix for it to stick.
If all that fails i would try uninstalling AVG than download this http://download.cnet.com/Advanced-SystemCare-Free/3000-2086_4-10407614.html Run the "maintain windows" to clean anything left behind from the uninstall and any other issues that you might have. Next i would run the "diagnose system" to check if anything else Advanced system care can find and fix it even creats a restore point every time you open it so you can go back to that point in time if any problems arise. Than reinstall AVG and try again.

It MAY just be a bug in AVG that has surfaced in 9, and it just needs to be corrected... Perhaps someone can report this to AVG.

Avg 9 problem

I had the same problem
I had the same problem but I solve it by adding the entire folder "aeria games" to the exceptions list in the "resident shield directories excluded" of avg 9 and the wolfteam/launcher.exe to "the excluded files" in the resident shield
