Hello there ^^

So, it seems like for some reason, some people couldn't find the link to uninstall the game in their add/remove program section of control panel.

Thus, here is a manual procedure to cleanly remove the game without using the provided uninstaller:


Warning : be careful when messing up with the registry !!
If you don't feel comfortable with it, DO NOT use that procedure.

1 - Shortcuts :

If they exist :
* Remove the shortcut from your desktop.
* Remove the subfolder "Shaiya" in the "AeriaGames" group in your Start Menu.
If you don't have any other game from Aeria, you may remove "AeriaGames" itself from there.


2 - Game Files :

Run REGEDIT.

Go to :
HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{8A4D41F3-3EDA-4DAC-9403-839708EA0667}
Write down the value associated to "InstallLocation"

Go to that directory.
If you wish to keep your screenshots, don't forget to save them elsewhere.
Go up one lvl in the filesystem's tree, and delete the directory where Shaiya was installed.


3 - Registry Entries

Go back to RegEdit.

Remove the following keys :
* HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\AeriaGames\Install(US)2
* HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\SONOV\Shaiya

IF you don't have any other game distributed by Aeria Games, you may also remove :
HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\AeriaGames
IF you don't have any other game made by SONOV, you may also remove :
HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\SONOV


Go to : HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
There, remove the following key : {8A4D41F3-3EDA-4DAC-9403-839708EA0667}

Quit REGEDIT.


4 - Uninstaller Files :

Go to C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information
There, remove the folder named "{8A4D41F3-3EDA-4DAC-9403-839708EA0667}" and all of its contents

Side note : the "C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information" directory is probably hidden.

You're done

Since it IS there, I decided to explain where to find it.

Seemed obvious to me since that was the name used at install time, but maybe that's why some people didn't find it :hmm:

Just a note:
If your using a Windows 64-bit platform such as Vista, the registry path is:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{8A4D41F3-3EDA-4DAC-9403-839708EA0667}

Do you suggest I re-install the program just to uninstall it clean?
There was no file called Install(US)2 in my Add/Remove program.

I did find everything else though.

Once this is dealt with we'll see if I need to deal with Game Guard.

Hmm it should be there if you used the official installer ; yet there is no reason why it should be if you used the UNofficial Release (since it doesn't come with an installer, ther is no uninstaller either).

Well I guess if you can't find any other remains of the game, there is no reason to reinstall just so they appear, to be deleted (again). I mean, if something you would wish to get rid of isn't even there, why bother ? :p
