I have to side with sbkc1 on this.
Too many times my pvp priest has encountered (in a party of 7) an AOE fury group.
I don't have that much hp - I can just about survive a Assassin combo. Pagans however (apparantly regardless of my 250+ resistance) can take me out in less then 2 seconds, usually with some sort of Storm or Meteor swarm.
Regardless of how many priests in the party, if the 7 of us take that from two mages at umpteen hundred feet (exaggeration) then half of us will drop. There is nothing I, or any other priest, can do to counter that yet. Worse, it's at a range where fighters/ranger/defenders cannot return attack. An AOE spell that can heal immediately following the first attack would be a critical lifesaver, but surely not that much to unbalance the game.
Remember, chances are that Oracles will get the same spell so there's no such thing as overbalancing a class (comparing light vs fury). Perhaps all we need is resistance to do what it's supposed to
We also seem to be a prime target as well ("ohh! priest! aah! stop it healing!) and are so vulnerable to archers it's stupid. A buff that can resist arrows would be useful.
All that said, I've not had the problems that Billage has - buffs are good for all the Lights in pvp, if only because they can then go off and earn blessing for you
