The full suggestion should read "Have 'Notify me when a reply is posted' unchecked by default or toggled via settins"
One of the more annoying things I find with this forum is particular is that I always overlook the "notify me" checkbox, and since it's enabled by default I always find myself getting e-mails for threads I've accidentially watched because I forgot to uncheck it.
So, my proposal is to either allow the user to set whether or not "notify me" is checked or to possibly just have it unchecked by default entirely. If not for new replys or new topics, then at least when it comes to editing posts, where it also checks itself again.
I honestly don't know how many people want it which way, but it's something to consider.
