To get more mages/pagans in pvp

just some crazy thoughts.
why aren't there more mages/pagans in pvp?

- cast times
- magic resist of other players
- squisyness of the mage/pagan
- skills of other players like magic defly (archer), stinger (fighter), that interups the casting.

Why not let the mages/pagans use the enviroment! in the char discription it says that the draw there strengt from the elements of nature!

- a mage that is standing on a earth surface and with a eath ele weapon, should cast faster earh spells! (0.7xcasttime)
- when it stands in the water they should (with the help of a new wind-spell) pull up a wall of water to protect them for a few sec so they can complete a cast!
- when they use both the fire spells (fire thorn and fire bush) they should have trown up a fire wall for a few sec that burns the arrows (like a ranged protection shield)
- replace the magic arrow for magic spot sure helps a lot!

just some ideas!

but i am sure it would be pretty difficult to do.

and i have to addmit that is quit a challange for programmers to do this but i don't think it is that hard,

for example the earth-thingie they have already progammed the ele-lapis, spell-time and texure of the ground type so if they just some true/false calculations.

like :

*IF*(ele=true;earth-spell=true;texure{x}=true) than (earth spell-timex0.7)

but i'm just /fail @ programming ^^

I like those ideas, but i think just the faster casting time
with the environment would be better than all those
shields while casting and stuff.
That would give the mage temporary invincability, and
then there would only be mages in pvp.

Great ideas tho. :3

you are right i think but if the mage/pagan get the wind/water shield it should last for only 2-3 sec, only protect form mely dmg and have a cool down time the same of lets say a sins stealth.
in that way the archer/hunters need to prevant the casting and with the fire(ranged) shield it is up to the wars/fighters to prevent casting.

NOTE: it is always good to get critism on ideas only after that you *can* get somethink that is usefull. Wink

They could add a attack spell for Mages/Pagans and Priest/Oracles that make u invincable
while u are casting but have a recharge of 40 seconds.

lol there are great ideas...

but i have a remark about the "water wall".. there will be some mages and pagans that will run away looking for a water place to use this spell

Or, a good exemple is the blessian forrest (PvP20-30 area) the pagans can enter the base and they can use the lake in the AoL base to kill and selfprotect what makes them very irritating...

i don't have problems with intruding in bases but don't make those too overpowered that they can get 'easy kills'


and one more thing... about the envirronment to get faster spell... i think it's very hard to create a program about this cos in fact the programs are same and a fighter will have those speedies too if they're using earth weapon... maybe possible, but very hard to create a program about it

true but that will probably make the pvping more dynamic 'cos a mage on his/her own is an easy target! even with this kinds of buffs. that was my main reason to discribe two type of shields. Wink

Again it is up to the defences of your own fraction becau se the water wall will not protect from ranged attacks and other magic attacks.

if this is possible it will only work when an earth spell is casted.
and if just an ele trigger faster atacks-speed it will still not be a reason for mages to have any advances of it.

ik weerleg je commentaar niet om tegen je in te gaan X dat is niet mijn bedoeling. ik heb gewoon een dissusie opgestart aan de hand van wat ideeen.

i'm not trying to piss you off X that isn't my intension. i've just started an discussion bassed on my ideas. Wink

Not bad ideas. Should be more volcanic area's to encourage fire attacks aswell... I think that these idea's are very very good and would make mages/pagans more encouraged to go into pvp
