Level 29s

Caergate Campers
Hello guys.
I'm here to address a problem in caergate.
This problem is that level 29s purposely stay level 29's and continue beating the crap out of everyone else because of their +10 gear and rare mechs.
Now I understand each player is entitled with his/her own unique play style, but this method is just borderline cheap.
People in RG and Free Knights have been using this tactic in the Valkyrie server, and it is extremely toxic for lower levels and casual players.

For example, just now I am getting spawnkilled in my base by level 29s with rare mechs and 6k+ HP...
I'm not suggesting that aeria/liveplex force them to level up, I'm just addressing a concern that needs to be addressed.

Please give me your suggesstions.

inb4 OP is butthurt for getting killed a bunch
EDIT: Also for those who claim to just "ignore caergate," am I going to gimp myself of a great pvp experience just because of a few players?

Imo, Caergate is, first of all, a pvp battleground rather than a place to spend leisure time leveling. Given that mobs give higher exp and even has a chance to drop unsealers, rare suits, etc, the risk factor is also a given. Should you wish for no hassle leveling then we have Mereholt for that, want to risk it? Then caergate is for you. Sure there are some cheapshots who spawn camp but there are ppl from your faction who deal with them too. I think soft capping for pvp is fairly common in most mmos so it shouldn't be considered a problem here.

Yes, there should be a risk factor to playing in Caergate.
However, lvl 29 in +10 gear on the Engineer track? Sorry, but there is no risk factor there. Oh, the players from the other faction might team up at some point to deal with it? Still very little risk factor, you'll definitely get a good number of kills in before you're actually dealt with.
The saddest thing is, there are players from BOTH sides doing it, and those players rarely bother to fight one another. Is your engineer camped? Well, don't look up to those campers from your own side for help, they're too busy camping the enemy engineer, which involves way less risk than fighting comparably geared players attacking their own side. It wouldn't even amaze me if some of them were just alts, or shared a ventrillo channel. They totally ignore eachother in game!

ehm.

nope.

The pay2win component and the "slight" unbalance of classes de facto deny this otherwise good argument.

Those 2 components added are just too overwhelming for the so-called freeloaders and also for the so-called carebears, however since everyone will reroll WH/SW, the problem will soon be solved.

Yesterday out of boredoom, I've logged in an alt, lvl 27 DEF, with crappy rare +6 gear. Time to earn some levels and move it to Vil, since CG is almost empty and populated by cowards or ppl ganking low levels to farm RP. Well out of quests the best place to level is still CG...

Wandering aroung an almost empty CG, I've crossed a patrol of 3 enemies (I don't specify faction because every faction does such things), in +9/+10 farming RP on noobs (probably alts of high level players - based on the fact that prices are a bit high on Valk for buying/enhacing stuffs till +9, when you're going to change the very same stuff in less than a week)

Well that's no PvP, that's simply try to attack, be ganked / onehitted, respawn. Sure I could have wore a full +10 gearset but what's the point ? I'd be immortal in CG with such a set... where's the thrill ? Wanna enrich PvP with risk ? Make enhacements don't apply in PvP... ah no, it's impossible on F2P...

wallet fighter won't be OP anymore...

I dont see any problem with the level 29 at caergate.
yes, I have 29er for caergate as well as I have a 34.
yes, my 29er is more powerfull than the average guy, who uses CG as a step to get to 30+.

but twinked characters as a smaller level are in everygame, where there are certain step and level breaks. as you might know, everything is just done with legal methods and it would be a very hard and unfair act, if aeria increases the XP-loss-level, because all of our resources we put in our characters where done because we know that we can get some special value out of it.

I also understand, that you complain about other ppl that a ganking weaker just in order to show power. I understand that this is a problem and it is a problem of every side and every server.

But I can tell you, that there also exists people like me, that do this mostly to:
- compete with other twinked chars
- compete with their own faction for titan
- dont have interesset in killing weakers

I for my self never go on "hunting the weak". cause its not fun. I know the weaker is weaker than me. I dont became better or bigger with killing these. If I go for fight, then for the fights with the big ones. If then weakers join the fight, yes, ok, they have to learn the game. And I think if the weaker play together and slay the stronger in team, they feel better Wink

But yes, it is bad to become killed again on spawn point. This just happen to me also. in this case, just wait the 90 secs of the respawn timer. I never have seen them standing this long on that spot.

I take the presence of players who want to take as much advantage as they can in certain areas as a given. On certain points, it can be annoying -- like during escort missions, when you have to stay within a certain distance of the target, or you fail the mission. Still I realize that chances are good someone from the opposite faction will make an ambush attempt. All you can do is stay on your guard, and hope you're not stunned long enough to fail the mission. Or pack more Mother's Miracle.

I have also been killed in my own base. To the Arkana who managed such a feat, I say 'congratulations.' That takes guts and planning. I don't take it as personal or anything. After all, I've only got my Level 26 Medic in there. Plenty of room for growth there.
