Guide to Trials

Nothing special, but for those who want it.
It is important to note that to save space, I've hyperlinked each trial to the corresponding page on my guild forum. As I complete each trial, I'll input them in. They each list the player limit, special things to look out for in each specific trial, and of course the boss drops. If anyone has any tips about any specific trials, feel free to let me know and I can add them.

Lv50 <Elem. Trials> Inna
  • Vileshark HQ

There are four bosses in this dungeon. Kill Charles first. When fighting Kedar there is a spot that triggers an ambush, and a set of three mobs will continually come and attack the group attacking the boss. There is an NPC in the empty room (The room that doesn't get a boss) fighting a mob. You must get to her and kill that mob before she dies, or you will be unable to finish the trial. The last boss is through a portal, which will not appear unless the NPC Avril is saved.

  • Ulta Hall

After killing Gamera and Kenny, two Zumis will spawn and begin fleeing towards the beginning of the dungeon. They must be intercepted and killed, each holding an item. Once you have these items you're able to go to the island, which you can reach by going to the dock and talking to the NPC. If you fail, you will be unable to reach the last boss, Captain Kasin. An off-tank is needed for Kasin. He has a debuff that turns the target (usually the tank) into a boar, and every time Kasin attacks the boar, he heals himself. The off-tank must take aggro once the main tank gets turned into a boar.

  • The Angor Quarry

Herak is fairly easy to take down, however he has a targeted aoe stun, which he can spam. It might be wise to have a secondary healer to stand back and purify the main healer else the team will literally be stunned to death.

Near the end of the dungeon, before reaching Mori Mori, a large worm spawns. This worm hits very hard, is difficult to kill, and moves slowly. He will disappear once he reaches Mori but will spawn again in the middle of the dungeon. This trap is unavoidable.

Mori himself is fairly difficult, sporting both an aoe sleep skill and an anti-skill debuff, both easily purified but the healer must be far, at the edge of their range of Healing Radiance. Mori must be killed before the worm reaches him or it will become nearly impossible.

  • Fort Verdure

At the end of the dungeon, in the hall just before Ketak, there is a dark square on the floor, the same as all the other halls. However stepping on or near this square sets off a trap that sends two strong mobs through the dungeon. They continuously come about every two minutes, regardless of whether the last set was killed or not. To prevent this, the tank needs to stand directly behind the dark square, and use their pet to lure the boss to their position. Without moving you must kill Ketak here, as moving any farther back with reset the boss, and any further forward will set off the trap.

  • Baltaroi Core

To begin with, tentacle monsters prevent healing. Focus those down before you kill the other mobs. Dark Abyss Rep.s cast fear and hit hard, kill those quickly. Once you reach Haslett, there is nothing especially difficult about him. He will summon bugs, be sure you have aoe dps's that can kill them before they take out the healer. Reaching the room before the Ebaster you'll notice there are four magic skill circles in the room. Ignore them for the moment and continue on to Ebaster. Be careful about Ebaster's reflect.

Here is where those magic circles come into play. Upon Ebaster's death, the final boss is summoned, Gustav Baltaroi. He has three skills to look out for, and you need to have your effects on if you have any hope of combating him. The first is a very small range aoe sleep. Once the player is asleep for so many seconds, they take 99,999 damage and die instantly. On top of that, it also does damage over time. It must be purified away. It is possible to survive this, sometimes it doesn't dp 99,999 damage. However the next two always will. The second skill looks like a fire cast. On the floor are two fire magic circles. You must pass through them (you do NOT need to stay on them) to gain a three second buff. If you do not gain this buff, you will take 99,999 damage and die instantly once he finishes casting. This skill has a long cast time, there will be plenty of time to reach a circle. The third skill is the same, it's a dark-type cast. Pass through the dark magic circle to gain a buff that prevents you from taking 99,999 damage once the long-cast skill is complete.

To fight him, your healers must be on the opposite side as your fighters. Pick a side, one fire and one dark circle. All fighters must stick together. The healers however should stay apart from each other. The sleep is targeted. It must be purified instantly, therefore there is never a time where a healer can be sleeping or it could mean death to the whole team. During the long cast of both the fire and dark skills, you merely need to pass through the matching circle on the ground to gain a protective buff. You will still take damage, but you will not die.

Gustav is also capable of pulling everyone in, but this is trivial and you can easily run away again.

  • Veninfang

As far as the mobs go, Gunmans will prevent healing. This is easily combated by purifying. The female trainer mobs have an aoe heal that heals all the mobs around them as well. The first boss you meet will be Hans. Hans has a reflect, heal-on-attack, and DoT, all of which cannot be removed. He also has an aoe stun, which can be removed. Your team must be careful when fighting him. If he has a random reflect buff (all bosses have three random buffs), he's short of impossible to kill, and you're best off resetting.

The second boss you'll meet is Ram Blood. For Ram, you need to roll your sleeves to face this big kitty. To start with he has a very strong reflect. The reflect is on the boss and cannot be removed. Strong DPS players beware, you can easily one-hit yourself. You'll notice that unlike the normal dungeon Ram Blood, the trial version does NOT have summons. He also has various small debuffs, but they're generally harmless and can be removed.

The third boss you'll meet is Karen. If you can find a level 60 bard, bring them with you. If not, keep a cleric far away to purify the main healer. Karen likes to spam sleep and stun skills. If she hits you when you're asleep, you'll take heavy damage.

The fourth boss you'll see is Chino. On top of an aoe stun, he has a reflect. Watch out for the reflect and he's easy to take down.

After defeating Chino, there will be a small cutscene and a dragon will appear in the large open area before you fight Hans. A man will appear named Frightclaw. He will walk to the dragon, then mount it, and defeatable barrels will appear. Each player defeat a barrel, and the boss will be easy. He has no exceptional skills and is easy to take down. The non-combat NPC acts as a Soul Guardian and will let you out of the dungeon.

  • Tasos Channel

Quite possibly the shortest trial. Both bosses are paired at the end. It is difficult to engage one without fighting both, and both bosses need to be killed within 10 seconds of each other or the other will disappear and the trial will fail. Individually the bosses aren't especially difficult, but Angela is harder than Juan and its recommended to kill her first. She has a reflect which can be purified away, and has a range aoe skill which turns her attackers into a mantis which can't be removed. This mantis form cannot use skills. Juan's only special ability is a targeted aoe stun which also can be purified.

  • Shale Cavern

There's nothing special until you reach the first boss, Gun-RX79 . It's optional to skip him and kill the second boss, but if your team doesn't want to do that, go ahead and fight him. The only special thing he does is a reflect on the player which can be easily purified away, however killing Gun -RX79 sets off a trap. A large guard monster spawns and walks all the way to the end boss, RoboVT080. You must kill this monster, and he has a debuff which makes the target receive 2x damage. This debuff can be removed. Once killed, another one will respawn. 5 monsters in total will spawn, and all must be killed before you can move on to RoboVT080. Robo has a reflect, but the most noticeable thing about fighting him are the ice and lightning magic circles on either side of him. He will cast skills with either lightning or ice effects, and you need to stand on the corresponding magic circle else you will take 99,999 damage and be killed instantly. If you avoid those instant kill skills, as long as the healer purifies the reflect Robo should be easy. There are no additional bosses in Shale Cavern.
