Blah, I just reread the bike's and it turns out even the Bike sales are luck based. I bought one thinking i'd get the actual bike but in the end just got ripped off.

Its my own fault for not reading more carefully but my argument still stands.

Luck based item shops are wrong and I wont be supporting them.

So instead I bought the Overpriced new bike and that was it. I wont be making another AP purchas for this game until the item all is now solely resting on luck based purchases.

I'd like an option to buy something so that you can re-do what your character looks like--different hair color, etc.

I'd also like less gamble boxes.

That's a good suggestion.

The Good:

The 69 AP deals
The grafting tool price

The Bad:
- the lucky boxes, i'm not spending on those anymore, period. either you change the name from "item mall" to "item casino" or let us purchase what we want
- also, think about the gear price, if you're keeping the unsealer at 20 the lingerie/costumes should be on the 7-10 usd range for the one we want
- suggestion: once you add more variety to the shop a valid lucky box would be, let's say a "costume lucky box" in which you'll always get a costume piece, it might not be the one you want but you'll end up with something valuable to trade/collect
- let us purchase for our desired class, don't do the "it has a small chance to drop AND if you somehow get it, it might for some other class"

In Star Trek Online there are lottery boxes that have a small chance of giving a rare ship similar to the boxes introduced here that yield rare outfits/bikes.

However, to make players feel they are getting more value for their buck(and increase revenue on the keys needed to open them), the boxes also give a minimum of four lobi crystals-a special currency that can be spent in the Lobi store on rare ships/outfits/pets ect that are exclusive to the Lobi store. This way, even if you spent $100 on lottery boxes and didn't get what you want, you are still building up currency to acquire valuable items, thus increasing the value of the lottery boxes.
Would you guys consider something similar as a future lottery box feature?

This is an excellent post. The cash shop in STO by perfect world is an excellent example of it done right in an MMO. STO was dead before perfect world made it F2P and added that excellent cash shop. ( although i bought every ship and crew uniform in cryptics shop prior to the PW takeover to lol )

In my Opinion £10-£15 a outfit is probably the maximum I would pay, so roughly $20 for a really good outfit say about half that for lingerie which you rarely see.

I feel the bike prices are kinda skewed as well they should probably be nearer the $20 mark than the $30 as they stand.

Also allow us to sell the items we buy for ingame currency to other players. This has a two-fold beneficial effect:
1) people with free time and less cash can also obtain the items they want
2) people with money to spend and less time to grind can earn ingame gold meaning less chance they go to a gold seller

Personally I will never buy gambling boxes in item shops. If i want to gamble i'll go to the casino. When I want an item for my hobby i'd rather pay a normal price than risk nothing trying to get it on the cheap.

I do pvp a fair bit and the "instant" mounting on the new mounts ( which is probably an oversight ) is a bit of a stickler. I like my Elite founder mount a lot and feel a touch annoyed the other "cheaper" new mounts are "better" so to speak but it's hardly a game breaker.

I think perhaps the "enhancement" items are a touch overpriced but thats just personal opinion
fe the no loss of level on failed enhancement could perhaps give you 2-3 of the items for the current cost.

The pet datachips if they can be leveled up as a previous poster asked are then worth the money but if in a couple months you try to sell us level2 chips for more cash. Then your going to have some irate customers i would imagine.

Really liked the 69AP Shop

Lottery boxes are very unappetizing.

As someone who isn't a heavy cash shopper (I can only spend $20-50 every few months), I would much rather have the ability to flat out buy the costumes or mounts that I want from the cash shop. The rates are so low for actually getting something you can use from the boxes, that you could end up like all these other people and waste $100 without winning what it is you want.

You could easily price costumes/lingerie/lingerie unsealer around $10-15 USD each, and sell a lot of them, to a wider range of people.

I would be way more willing to flat out purchase a bike for $20-50 than I would be to spending potentially more (that I can't spend) on boxes that probably won't give me the box.

I put in a suggestion here.

But, overall, I have to say, I think a lot of the prices need to come down. I, myself am on a limited budget -- so the 69 AP items are great since I can do a random survey and get that much -- and don't have much money to spend on my gaming. Right now, with the occasional $20 I can put towards a game I like. But the prices here make me want to spend that money elsewhere; such as SWTOR where I can get a couple of unlocks across all my characters server wide for the same $20, and might even still have a little left over

I love playing the games here, (been around since I discovered DoMO, which I sorely miss sometimes) and have no problem spending the money if I feel it's worth it. But, when everything is so expensive, and you don't have the means, you'd rather jes save the coin in game to buy the stuff you want, even if it'll take you several months because you also can't advance very far with the zoning bug in place...

The gambling boxes incited such outrage on the forums that it inspired me to write a guide to protect players while using the Item Mall. It's not even an exaggeration to call them psychological tricks. This shop model relies who players who are susceptible to gambling addiction in order to pull in more cash. I realize that the boxes won't be removed for exactly that reason - Aeria makes more money if it sells them. But that's not an excuse. You have created a very large amount of dissatisfied customers who now feel betrayed for supporting Aeria. Please implement at LEAST one of the two following suggestions.

1. Clearly state the odds of winning each item in a lottery box. This is both common sense and common courtesy.

2. Guarantee a win after a certain threshold. There's absolutely no excuse for allowing someone to spend $100 or more on digital lingerie and then not even get it. The value of the item is not remotely that high, and the consolation prizes are a joke.

That's an excellent guide you wrote there and it looks like a majority of the Player base has already started to take a stand against the Lottery Box business practice.

Lets just hope Aeria takes the hint as well. It's either going to go one of two ways.

Outcome A) Aeria acknowledges that the Lottery Boxes are not a good way to market their pay items and either Removes them or adds the option of buying the items directly. Thus earning the favor of the player base and keeping a healthy and good relationship and a steady cash flow with its paying customers.

or

Outcome B) Aeria completely ignores the cries of this situation and chooses to let the greed for money make the decision to keep the item mall the way it is. Spreading a bad reputation among the player base for not only its Item Mall but its name, and thus turning their Company-Player Base relationship into one of sour and greed and thus ultimately damaging the item mall itself.

Lets hope Outcome A is the path they choose in the future.

Once again, nice guide.

- I'm a little concerned about the pricing of some items. I can understand the seal remover being $20, but I'm concerned that if we are able to buy costumes directly, it would cost that much. I believe that costumes would be more effective at the $10 range.

-There seems to be a bit of discrepancy between the item mall on the site and the one in game. I bought a pet data chip for 149 AP (I believe that is the correct amount. Will verify in a bit) but when I looked at the item mall in game, they had it for 99 AP. I'm all for sales, but I would expect it to be the same on the site and the game.

-The item mall in game is more limited than the one on the site. I would like to see the 69 AP specials in game if possible.

-It seems that news on the site is not updated as quickly as when we click play game. For example, right now the game has news that the item mall is open and about the 69 ap bonus, but the site and aeria ignite still have news from the server maintenance as the most recent posts. Updating it on all three fronts seems like a more efficient way to spread news.

The Fetch Pet Datachip price inconsistency has been fixed -- if you would like your 49 AP refunded from buying the Datachip in the Web Mall, please write in a support ticket.

69 AP Specials -- we would like to do this, but sadly are limited by the in-game Item Mall's functionality, which does not allow us to limit quantity per player.
