I like it

Don't know about you, but I do.
No, really. I do like it.

I think it's great how aeria runs contests, sets rules and times, makes sure everyone knows about them and puts the hype out there; then totally ignores/changes things so friends of the GM's (anyone anyone else who might send a flattering letter) can 'win'.

Or how they (repeatedly) set a time for a contest draw then days after a deadline decide "Oh yeah, we got a lot of entries (for a contest for your 'biggest release ever'? No ****) so we decided to extend the deadline". Doesn't matter if your new deadline meant +5k more entries and that the original 2k or less entrants now had a much, much smaller chance amidst a sea of dummy accounts. Or that unsurprisingly ex-GS types and current friends of the GM's managed to 'win' places.

Or that you can hold contests based on tiered xp for game prizes and give xp boosters to said friends above. But it's fine, you still claim it's even ground despite people who ain't your pals not having access to bonus xp. Or play experience. Or knowing how the game/skills work. Or what builds are viable. Or got to make in-game friends to get groups sorted before release. But it's totally even since you said so.

Or that you can somehow make a 'FAQ' with no actual information. No really, it had no information at all beyond 'things get wiped after closed beta' which wasn't even one of the frequently asked questions since the answer had already been made obvious in a half dozen threads on page one.

Or how you advertise bonus items for playing another game, despite it not being available to a majority OS. But you claim it's ready soon, then the thread is mysteriously unstickied and left to die under a sea of new questions about your latest shiny news item. But it's fine, people forgot about it, so you don't need to follow up. That's saving money that is!

Or that every time similar issues are brought up it's always a cookie-cutter automated response to the tune of "We're leik, totally sorriez, I swaer we'z gonna liek, look into it" while ignoring the actual content of the post and focusing on the fact it's pointing out a (large)handful of errors being made.

Classy company. I like it. Not many people give cheese wheels PR jobs these days so it's good to see aeria take a stand for the greater gouda.

Do you think you could point out what you're referencing in some of those paragraphs? Maybe a link to the forum threads/posts to help out the peeps who aren't sure what you're referring to in a couple cases. Thank you.

Meh on the rest, but this one deserves a comment:

"Or that you can somehow make a 'FAQ' with no actual information. No really, it had no information at all beyond 'things get wiped after closed beta' which wasn't even one of the frequently asked questions since the answer had already been made obvious in a half dozen threads on page one. "

If you pay some attention to the forums and shoutboxes you'll see that this is the number one question that gets asked during these CB events. Regardless of how many times it's posted, shouted, or added to FAQs, this question comes up over and over again.

It might not be so bad if it were only a question, but it invariably ends up that a surprisingly large subset of the player base is peeved that their character was wiped after CB and they don't handle it well.

It can't be made obvious enough.

Just plain Beaver now.

This would be impossible. I'm one of those folks having shoutbox repeating errors (google it; common enough) and the only fix is "we'll look into it", seems to have existed for quite some time. Not sure if they're fixing it, considering how old some of the reports about it are (and yet it's still not addressed) it seems unlikely though.

Don't see it often at all on the forums I frequent either. Admittedly I don't read the forums for every game, or even every upcoming/beta-stage game, that's not my job after all. The several I do read though have rarely had that question asked however (yes, even with CB/Alpha stage games here).

Maybe be more specific. At what? How?

Addressed paladin in a PM, naming names etc on a forum is not polite after all.
