We do not allow Dualboxing
Let me clarify some things to prevent further confusion.
In original terms:
Multi-boxing means using some sort of software to control multiple characters at the same time across multiple physical computers. Multi-boxing was used before Virtual Machines had any stake in the marketplace.
Multi-clienting means opening more than one client on a single physical machine. In some cases this requires editing the game to allow it (against all TOS); in other cases Virtual Machines are utilized.
Multi-boxing is now understood to mean using more than one physical machine to log in on multiple characters at the same time.
Now that we have definitions as a basis to work off of going forward, let us try this again.
Multi-boxing is it legal?
- Using more than one physical machine to log in on multiple characters -
Opening multiple clients on one physical machine - NOT OKAY
Using Virtual Machines to open multiple clients on one physical machine - NOT OKAY
Using ANY form of software to control multiple characters simultaneously in ANY OF THE ABOVE LISTED SITUATIONS - NOT OKAY
Further semantics will just make things more confusing, this is as simple as it gets. It should be no surprise that we can see every program you have running on your computer. If it is a surprise, then you should read the Terms of Service you agreed to.
