Turtles can be tricky. I had to spend months disguised as one before they finally accepted me, at which point I was able to work my way up the turtle ranks and become the leader of the bale.
Fun Fact: A group of turtles is referred to as a bale.

But I believe MMOs are beatable at any given point in time - that is until more content is added, at which point one would need to need to exert additional effort in order to regain the previous status of having beaten it.
I suppose in a broader sense it might be accurate to say you can never truly beat an MMO specifically
because there will always be additional content later due to the game's design (being an MMO), but I like to think that if someone has completed every aspect of a game in its current state they have "beaten it"... if only for the time being.
That's what I like about MMOs though, is that there are new things added all the time. Contained stories on console games can be fun but MMOs keep giving and have that wonderful social aspect as well.
