Remind me why Phoenix was made again?
-Players didn't want bogo and tiers
-Players didn't want GM services (max ojs, links, enchants)
-Farmable gears (Power to the Farmer)
What do we have now.. and in the future?
- Ladders - 'coming soon'
- Perfect Lapisia(non-farmable, non-trade, AP exclusive) - current
-All gear, besides quest through Mystery Boxes (AP). - current
I understand its a business move, and most definitely by technical means, not the same. BUT ITS THE SAME THING AND WE ALL KNOW IT.
I stick by this server, but its only turned up to be more of a cash dump than OS/Merged has ever been, and just a slide-around the technicalities of what the players have asked for.
Not much more i can say. An educated and empathetic response to this would be appreciated.
What have you done, with phoenix, to emphasize the original reasoning of why the players have asked for this server?
I want to emphasize, what you are claiming is precisely why Phoenix was abandoned by my guild, and several others.
Maybe you personally felt that no promos at all was a good thing, but others saw it for what it was: a vacuum money trap 6 times as expensive in the long run as OS.
I would think most players only agreed on:
No GM Services
But no promos? That surely wasn't my intention or Verdonix's, or anyone who was in the core push for it.
Promos are what CREATES a secondary market in game for free players to work with. Without them there is no free player. Promos create an environment where AP buyers can profit by buying only nominal amounts of AP. Promos create resistance to hyper inflation.
Do I think Perfect lapisia, etc are a bad move? Sure. Selling 77 gear on mystery boxes? Sure.
But these were came into play after the initial sales mixed had already scared off most of your players. Blaming them is probably not what I would consider correct.
Best wishes GD. I do wish we could have made it work.
