@The People that said 1.
1+2=3
6/2=3
3x3=9

That is my reasoning.

its 6 / 2 x (1+2)
We first solve the ( ), then we solve the x which means multiplication and then the / which means division, its 100% = 1. Any other answer that is not 1 its completely wrong because im studying Civil Engineering, please go back to high school!

PD: The (1+2) its multipliying the 2 which is dividing the 6... in other words its actually like this

6
------
2(1+2)

If its not like this, then who planted the problem is not right, if you meant:

6
-- (1+2) should be like this 6/2 (1+2) (hope you can notice the space between 6/2 and (1+2)
2

You can check what im saying using wolfram alpha Smile

I got 9 cause
(1+2)= 3 because of parentheses (order of operations)
then (6/2)=3 because of division (order of operations)
then (3*3)= 9 because of multiplication (order of operations)
reason i divided first, is cause i learned that if it goes down to multiplying and dividing, you go from left to right, so thats why i divided first Razz

I am really not understanding how this equation is supposed to be a difficult one. This is simple math!

Fun thread part I understand, but I really hope HS graduates are not having problems with the simplicty of this
