Not that i have been bothered to read the post thoroughly... but why use UE3 when they have released UE4...? Besides... there is nothing wrong with the serious engine or the game for that matter, the problems that exist are in the coding of the game not the game engine, things work they just need to be refined.

Complete re-write of the games code and transfer of the world maps to UE , and the costs of obtaining a licence would be far more than them focusing on fixing the code that already exists. Besides UE would probably have a royalty bearing licence agreement which means AGE/BarunsOn Games would also then have to further increase their already insanely expensive AP inventory... just to cover the costs of the re-write and to be able to still make a profit from the game its self.

Not to mention BarunsOn Games have axed Last Chaos Korea, and are only providing client support and patches to those companies who have got a current royalty bearing licence agreement for Last Chaos, which means they probably wouldn't want to have an added cost just to "keep up to date" with the game engines...

And i agree with Graut...

Interesting thread. I think something indeed needs to be done. I'm amazed at the numbers of players who are dropping off even from 3-4 months ago. Most subservers are little more than ghost towns. So obviously there is serious player discontent. But at the same time, something about the game must be profitable as the game has not been shut down completely.

The main problem I see is that there are too many parties involved. There is Barunson, Aeria, the developers, and the players. Each one is vying for their own interests, and ultimately everyone will lose if Last Chaos continues on the same course.

I feel largly the voice of the players falls on deaf ears. The players know how to make the game better and how to continue to make it profitable and even increase profitability.

Many suggestions have been offered in this thread and in others, and yet, does anyone really hear or listen?

Bear in mind that quite a few LC players and GSes have been involved in the DKO Closed Beta. Once that's over, you might have cause for this claim about declining population. I for one was asked to help out there, but now that they have their own GSes, I'm back here.

Eze,

The game code would still need to be rewritten anyway, regardless of where the problems are. Even if all of the problems are within the game code itself, and not the game engine, the developers could still replace the game engine, anyway, while they are fixing the problems.
