I dont believe this is the best action. Simply blocking will not save you from all attacks, as the only corners that can give you a good amount of protection would be in a base, but then again, even that cannot save you if there are people trying to squeeze behind you or from all sides.

The best course of action is to use block, then at the first moment available... Jump normal attack as a forward sweep to clear the path to escape, keep jumping around doing the sweep attack until you are clear, then bolt away.

This is more effective in capture/FS/SD than confront..... although it still works there too agaisnt weaker opponents.
