Scamming?

Curiosity
I see ALLOT of threads lately on scamming, most which mention GMs cant do a thing, and its the persons fault, i just want to draw your attention to a certain post by Hi-C for a min,

http://www.aeriagames.com/forums/en/viewtopic.php?p=13627503#13627503

If someone is using an exploit in the game or scamming you out of your hard-earned items, report them. You have my word, we WILL do something about it.

Yet, people say aeria cannot do a thing, although they 'WILL do something'.

So bottom line is aeria can do something yet dont, and people still continue to back up that they cant do something yet the fact is they can.

lazyness is a bad habit not listening to other is just plain stupidity making a thread about it doesn't solve everything let me point this out
"You may not hold AGE responsible for any loss resulting from in- game trading activitities. You may not hold AGE responsible for any information that is passed between players. AGE does not guarantee the safe keeping of information that is passed between players and will not be held responsible for any resulting losses or consequences arising from the improper use of said information. You may not hold AGE responsible for any in-game feature or item loss. AGE does not guarantee the availability of any in-game items, any Services or any levels to players."
so in relatively its the actions of oneself that causes one to suffer the consequences
it just takes a meer 5 minutes for one to escape away with your values it takes about the same time to ask if the person your trading is liable for their actions and it takes the same time to read and AVOID all the consequences one faces when trading with an unknown player

steps to avoid being scammed

this thread please new players I ask you to take 10-15 minutes of your time to read this information to avoid valuable losses remember all it takes is a meer 5 minutes for a scammer to escape with your items

Read, Ask, Decide, Repeat

Read the thread, Ask players you know full well new players join guild thats the reason why some guild exists to help you to prosper in the game, decide whether or not you can trust the player that offers you the money screenshots work best here it tells us what item was given what offer was given your in game name(ign) trading players ign, repeat the steps i know you want the offers but remember again it takes just 5 minutes for the scammer to escape with your valuables

its sad to see some of the community to stoop to so low actions but it takes precuations for these actions to stopalll that I ask is for you the community, tha players, the growing friends to take your time and read about these issues before you make the mistake

~Thank you for your time ~Kayly.CA1 of Shu

hey hey hey,,, they clearly say in the Terms of Service that ingame trades between players is at the players own risk. That's all that needs to be said.

Still it's common sense... would you trade your good items to someone you barely know? to someone you don't even trust?

They do something like banning the scammer.

But scammed victim wants their item back, thus they think Aeria do nothing at all.

People just have to understand Aeria cannot give your item back, but they will do something to punish the scammer.

This is partially true. I remember that HigherCalibur mentioned that some accusations of scamming have to much "he-said, she-said" for a valid judgement, and even Kalieyav (I think that's how his named is spelled) said that a few times, there were about fifty false accusations for every legit one. So it's true that Aeria CAN punish the scammers, but sometimes it's not easy to come to a final decision.

Also, like you said, a lot of the scammed victims want there items back. However, the cold hard truth is that the scammer might be punished, but in the end, they STILL succeed in taking your r6 I. Rod of the Gods. And chances are you'll either never get it back, or you WILL get it back RIGHT after paying half a million gold at the broker for it.

Finally, @dxpoo: I stand by what I said before in other threads: this community (save for those that I won't mention) LACKS common sense, which said lack of common sense is EXACTLY what a scammer needs to scam people. So yes, in the end it IS the scammed person's fault for letting themselves get scammed in the first place. And Hi-C even said that if people are still getting scammed by those they don't know and choose to trade with anyway, despite numerous warnings, that's on them.

That's all I'll say on this matter. Have a good evening.

P.S:
@Panderp: *looks at response* You jerk. You beat me to it.
