Chapter 7 Baal
As I continued on, I felt a intense burning pain in my body down the side Odin cut.
"What is this? My body is perfectly fine, but yet I feel pain coursing through me! It must of been that sword of his. **** him." I looked around the surrounding buildings that made it so you could not get a clear view of the sky. The windows were lit, a sign that day would be coming soon, so I put the hood of my cloak up. The lightning storm had passed and the rain was just a small sprinkle. I kept looking around trying to see if I could find something different.
"Everything looks the same. How does anyone know where they are going here?" I said softly to myself, and continued onward. As the sun started to rise I could feel my power slowly weakening. People started leaving their house as dawn arrived, filling the streets with people. I could hear the sounds of people stepping in water, talking, and even their hearts beating ringing in my ears. It made me wish that I my hearing wasn't as sharp and strong as it is.
I saw a alley and started to heads towards it. As I drew near I noticed that no lights were on nor was anyone standing in it, so I walked in.
"Strange, everywhere outside of this alley is already busy... I wonder why this is different." I said to myself as I walked further in. I heard the sound of someone falling through the air, so I jumped back and looked up to see a huge man had jumped down. The impact of him hitting the ground caused me to stagger, and the sound was like a earthquake to my ears. I measured the man, he was at-least double my size if not bigger. He had a strong build and shoulder length greasy dark blue hair that fell freely into his face. His eyes were a bright yellow, bright enough to make you believe that they were glowing. He wore a tight black shirt with a belt attached to it that held a black sword to it. His pants were a dark red lined with pockets, and on his waist he had a sash lined with pouches.
"Who are you, and what do you want?" I said to the man unafraid of his size.
"I am Baal, make sure to never forget my name, whelpling. I have watched everything you have done so far, and you are the first to stir my interest. But that isn't what I want with you yet, whelp." He said looking down at me arrogantly.
"You seen everything? Yet you did nothing? Is it because you are afraid of Etherians?" I said mockingly, knowing he was a Daemonus.
"You better watch your tongue, worm. I fear nothing, and don't get me wrong, worm, I am not your ally, nor your friend. You only interest me, that is the only reason I haven't killed you." Baal said to me putting a hand on his giant sword.
"You didn't answer my question fully... and I have a name. It's Karichi." I said to him as I watched his body language closely.
"To me you are a mere worm, not even a swine yet like the one you consumed earlier. I want you to come with me, you might be interested, worm." Baal said to me with a chuckle.
I almost attacked him out of anger, but I decided not to, at-least yet. "Where?" I said hiding my rage.
"Where else but my dwellings, worm." He said laughing at me.
"Fine, lead on." I said to him planning my actions. He walked past me and I followed him.
"I will just punish him when we get there, no one insults Belial, dead or not. I won't tolerate it. Also, whatever he might have for me I will still be able to get, and maybe profit by taking a new hideout for myself." I deviously thought to myself as I followed him. He lead me to a large building that had no lights on. It was hard to believe that a Daemonus could have a house like that, when compared to Belial's small shack. I followed Baal into the large house and took a glance around, it was lavishly decorated, almost as if he was someone of high standings. Baal quickly grabbed my attention as he pulled out Belial's book from one of his pouches.
"I want you to tell me what lies in this book, whelp." He said to me and held the book out to me. I stared at the book for awhile, expecting it to play with my emotions, but it didn't.
"What do I get out of it? Or what if I don't?" I said to him as I looked away.
"If you scratch my back, I might scratch yours. It's obvious you don't know your way around here, and I might be able to help with that, whelp. But you gotta do a little something for me." I grabbed the book from his hands and looked into it. It was filled with symbols and designs with words that somehow I knew were important.
"These pages are filled with -arts- from the dark-side. It's a guide on how to use them, and about other things from the dark-side as well." I said to him as I looked through the pages, understanding the book as if I had read it once before. I handed him back the book, only because I felt I had no use for it.
"Now hold your end of the bargain, Baal." I said to him, looking into his eyes.
"I said I might, I never said I would, whelp." He said laughing at me.
I stared at my hands, noticing my nails to be longer and sharper then before. I charged at Baal to slash his leg open with my nails, but he quickly pushed me into the ground and put his foot on my back. I tried to lift him, but he was too strong, something I didn't expect. I noticed his other leg close enough to bite, so I tried to but he quickly snapped my head and neck back. My head and neck fixed itself but as soon as it did, he snapped them again. The pain I felt this time wasn't like the pain Odin's curved sword did to me. I enjoyed this kind of pain. I felt as if I could deal with a endless amount of it, and my body would just fix itself. Baal then took out his sword, which I finally could get to see how large it really was. It was nearly as big as him, and it's blade thicker then my torso. He impaled the great sword into my lower back and into the floor so I couldn't move.
"Your interesting, for a maggot. Any-other worm would be dead by now, but not you. But you still don't interest me enough." He said arrogantly as I started to charge the same black energy into my hand. This time it formed from black lightning shaping into a ball that I threw at Baal's stomach. I landed it but it only barely damaged him and knocked him back.
"Now that was interesting, girl. That actually damaged me, but if that is your best you will never defeat me, whelpling." He said as he pulled the sword out of me and put it back onto his back. I stood and stared at him aggressively.
"Stand down, I'll give you what you need, worm." He said to me as he walked towards a desk and picked up a folded paper on it.
"It's a map and has locations marked on it. Don't expect anything else from me, girl."
I chucked as I took the map from him.
"So, this is how you Daemonus treat each other. I see. No wonder why you are so oppressed, you can't even get remotely along. Daemonus are like rats skewering around, fighting each other for the scraps left behind by the Etherians. Haahahahah, hahahah. It's pitiful, and won't ever end like this." I said laughing as I left.
I opened up the map Baal gave me, and closely inspected it to see where I could get a weapon. After making sure I knew the path I put the map into my cloak and headed towards the region that the map described. The rain had stopped and the sun was shining brightly. The liveliness had died down and only a few people walked on the streets. After reaching the destination I was greeted by a shady looking man, he didn't seem to be a Daemonus, but Etherian.
"You are a Daemonus aren't you? Are you looking for a weapon? I have just the things."
He said to me motioning me to follow, but I shook my head.
"No, I am not a Daemonus, I am a vampire, but I am looking for a weapon to slaughter my enemies with. It doesn't matter if it's Etherian, or a Daemonus, I will kill anyone who stands in my way. You will provide me with the weapon I want, won't you?" I said as my eyes glowed at the man. He backed up, clearly afraid.
"Yes... yes you can take as much weapons as you can hold, just don't hurt me. Can't someone try to help without being threatened? People these days." The man said as he opened a locked door. I chuckled enjoying his fear and followed him in.
"Take whatever you want, I don't care just leave me alone after." The man said as he pointed further. I walked in to see a shelves lined up with weapons, there had to be thousands of weapons. I walked down row by row, first seeing swords, bows and then spears, but they didn't interest me. I continued on further to see halberds, pikes, and swords labeled as scimitars. They reminded me of Odin's sword but smaller. The next row had sickle and chains labeled as "Kusarigama" surely it was Belial's weapon and "Zweihander" swords that were at least as big as me if not a little bigger. I reached a small row with large weapons labeled as "Scythes" a weapon that finally interested me. I looked at the ones there and noticed one strange one that had a black handle but no blade.
"Huh... this one is rather tempting. How odd." I said softly as I put my hand onto it and my power started to flow into it. A blade of black flame came out of the end as I fully gripped it.
"I like this one... I will call you Black Nightmare." A smile crossed my lips as I wielded it and swung it around. The black fire was no-more then a blade. The Etherian man walked over surprised to see me holding Black Nightmare.
"Tha-- that weapon no-one can wield. I don't know why you can use it, but you can have it! It's pointless to keep around or try to sell whats worthless to other people." He said backing up. I stared at him letting my eyes glow.
"Good, because I wasn't planning on paying for it." I said as I started to leave. The man immediately locked up the shop as I left, afraid maybe that someone may of saw us together.
"Now to find some people to test you out." I said to my new weapon, a friend that would never betray me or even argue with me. I headed off back to the city I came from with a smile, looking for Odin and to cause a little trouble.
