This story takes place a extremely long time ago... so long ago even I can't recall the exact time. As I recall it was somewhere that a ancient civilization hid, a civilization called "Etheria."
I will tell you my tale on how I became what I am.
Chapter 1. A Fateful Night
I rushed on out of my house one stormy rainy night, I wasn't given much opportunities to leave my home so I took the chance.
I decided to look around as the city was normally always empty on nights like this, but this time I decided to go much further then normal.
I rushed on past closed stores and many buildings until a saw a plaza with a Stone fountain.
"A Stone fountain? Huh? I never knew we still used stone...?" I thought to myself, but then I saw someone so I ran into the cover of a nearby building.
I then heard a second sound of footsteps in the water, so I decided to stick my head out to watch what was going on.
I saw two people, one man dressed in a hooded trench coat with buckles along the torso and sleeves.
The other person was a woman, she had such long silky blue hair and wore a white gown with blue frills, decorated with elegant designs I had never seen before.
The woman immediately pulled at a weapon, it was a sword with a constant flowing green blade that emitted light, but if you stared at it long enough you could see right through it.
The man then pulled out a red transparent chain that was attached to a sickle that looked as if it got it's color by being bathed in blood.
The man began to swing around the chain which moved the sickle so fast you could barely see where it was. The woman was not afraid she charged him with her sword, but the man elegantly dodged it while still swinging his chain. The woman tried to slash at him, but this time he moved the chain so the sickle would hit the sword, staggering her for a moment.
She became angered and charged him once again, but he threw the sickle missing her head. She drew closer and closer to him as he backed away,
"She has him!"
I thought but the sickle suddenly flew backwards with a tug of the chain, catching the back of her neck. He then gave it one final tug with a jump back severing her head.
I only gazed not sure of what exactly I just witnessed, but as I saw him start looking around I hid myself fully behind the wall. I started to hear footsteps getting closer to me. My heart was racing,
"Surely he didn't see me? Did he...? I don't think so?" I thought to myself but then I heard a voice, I presumed his.
"You saw the whole thing didn't you? We can't have that now can we?"
He said as he stepped in front of me.
He then stared at me for a short while before speaking again.
"Such a young girl... what are you doing out on a night like tonight?" "I uhh... was just looking around the city."
I hesitantly replied in a whisper like voice.
"Hmm, I may have use for you. You have potential girl. If you do not come with me though, I will kill you for that I can not allow you to tell anyone what you saw here."
He said smiling at me as he pulled off his hood, revealing his long red hair and his pure black eyes.
"What if I do run and get away from you...?" I asked. "It won't matter anyways. Your traces are here and you are like I. You will not be safe anywhere you go anymore. You do understand that right?"
He quickly replied. I was confused by what he said, I didn't understand what he meant by I am like him.
"What does he mean? I didn't do anything... did I?" I thought but it seemed he understood my confusion from my face.
"Such a sheltered young girl, it seems your parents did love you after all... even though you are a Daemonus." I was unsure what he meant.
"I thought we are Etherians... I mean we are from Etheria... maybe he is just making this up..." I thought but he continued with his rambling.
"A Daemonus is one that inherits the genes that give them the power from "The Dark One," unlike a Etherian who gets their power from
"The Holy." he said. "...The dark one? The holy? I don't understand what your talking about." I blurted out, and he gave a reply fast as ever.
"You shouldn't understand. It's not public knowledge. Our powers come from one known as "The Original" which has two sides. The people who have inherited "The Holy" are called Etherians, while we, the select few who have inherited the power of his "Dark One" side are called Daemonus. We are treated like trash that should of never existed in the first place. Now come with me or die, one way or another."
"I'll go, if your telling the truth... then I don't really have much choice."
I replied still not completely understanding what he explained.
"Good, what is your name then? I am Belial. We will be working with each-other from now on, so knowing each-others name would be a good start." He said with a smile at me.
"...It's Karichi." I replied.
"Karichi? A fine name it suits you.. or at-least will after we finish what I have started haha. Here take this." He handed me a black cloak way too big for me from his bag that he hid inside his coat.
"It might be too big, but at-least it will keep you from getting sick on the way to my hideout." I put it on and started walking with him for hours, unsure of where we were going, but I took the time to look at the surroundings as we walked. He led me to a small house that stood alone far away.
"Come on in, it is bigger on the inside." He said as he opened the door.
I walked in and looked around. It was messy, closed boxes littered the floors and there was barely enough walking space in-between each box. "This way." he said as he slid past me and opened a door in the floor.
He let me go down first, I walked down the stairs to come to a huge basement underneath the house. It was much cleaner then the upstairs but there wasn't much around besides a bed and a few machines.
"You do understand that you will be killing people if you work with me, and you already can not go back to your family... Actually it would be best to forget all about them. No matter where you go you will be hunted down, you can never live a normal life again." He said as he stood near a wall staring at me.
"I am sure, Belial. It's better to be with you then alone, I think at-least." I replied, looking around at my new home.
"You should get some rest, Karichi. You can use the bed while I unload somethings while you sleep." He said back to me. I walked on over the bed, it was rather beat-up and old but I was too tired to care and fell asleep fast on it.
