yup i agree with the two above. their is only 3 real types of guild that are listed in ever MMO iv played they are

what does it mean to be a "Specialty" guild? because i dont really understand at all

Specialty guilds cater to specific needs, like if you want to be a crafter only and such, they do their best to help you out in that field.
Some specialty guilds cater to all your needs as well, whether you want to craft, find fashions, pvp, dungeon and all that.

I personally see that as typical disucussion, in a more stricter view I would see that as a social guild. As none of us have proper experience with Lime as of yet, and because I know Passion isn't foucsing on ONE thing (trade specialisation only for example) I dont think it's right for those who read this to think "oh passion will help me with what I want to specialise in" when you don't specialise (as your goals are so HUGE and WIDE, and with the aliiances help we can achieve this Very Happy) XD unless you have a massive database (wiki) Then that would clarify it I guess and it should be included in your info? Just to help new members to LO searching the forums know us all better, because at the moment it seems "speciality guilds" nothing more than a fancy title? o: Just thinking~

I dunno, I thought specialty guilds was those that catered to specific needs, and so I listed mine as that since it caters to specific needs via the Unions for crafting/pvp/merchanting and the database we have. Though the database isn't very extensive and being worked on. http://passionguild.enjin.com/database
Here's a look at our union system: http://passionguild.enjin.com/unions
Reading that may clarify what I think a Specialty guild should be like.
Your right, I should add that to the post Very Happy
But mostly, I listed my guild in that category since it was the most reasonable compared to the others, our primary focus isn't PvP and although we are social, we aren't just a social guild, since I tend to think of the Social guild category on this thread as guilds that just want a family, and have a higher focus on that rather then anything else.

Note to all aeria members looking for a guild. Keep in mind all the guilds had to fit in to one of the three categories, they chose what best suited them, but might be capable of more. Social guilds might do more than be social, and although PvP guilds probably have a high emphasis on PvP they also do more, same goes with Specialty guilds Very Happy

Good I didn't want your other efforts going unoticed, as I know how hard your working on your extra features which come with being apart of the guild/alliance Very Happy plus it will make it clearer to the rest who read this and prevent it from being questioned again, this is why I like forums xD

I think he doesn't know all guild, so he's just making the page, so others can add.

I what guild are u, btw?

Yeah that might be what he is doing.

Since I advertise all guilds, I didn't want anyone thinking I favored one guild over another, so I have been trying not to shout out the guild I chose. I honestly don't favor any guild over another since I think each one has its own charm. In fact the only reason I'm in the guild I'm in is b/c of the process of elimination. xD

I dunno, I thought specialty guilds was those that catered to specific needs, and so I listed mine as that since it caters to specific needs via the Unions for crafting/pvp/merchanting and the database we have.

I too believed that specialty guilds were those that cater to a players certain need. However I had the same dilemma when the guild Passion was submitted to the list. There is a lot Passion is doing and wondered if it was fit to add them to the specialty list. With some research I only accepted them as a specialty guild because they have the Union which caters to merchants.

Social for me is a very relaxed guild where you didn't necessarily have to do anything except socialize. If you wanted to do events, go on, if not, don't. Want to lvl? Ok. Don't want to lvl? That's ok too. Verses PVP where you have to lvl and although you don't have to do every pvp event, you are expected to help out in PVP battles at least once in a while. Same with specialty, you don't have to run around doing something, but the members are encouraged to lvl, encouraged to take up a trade, encouraged to do a bit more then just socialize. At least that is what I thought. lol

I'm going to add that note Blue. Some guilds do so much more then just one thing, and I don't want someone to not look at a guild b/c of a label.

You have made a good point. :O I'll be sure to have specialty guilds state what it is they cater to. This should greatly help players narrow down their search for a guild with little confusion.

So as a quick question, would you like me to add an RP section for guilds? It would only make things more organized in my opinion. Of course after that I have no intention of making another category. xD However I do not mind adding a RP category to the list.

Thank you guys for bringing this up. It is a big help to me. :3

I second Kureis thoughts aswell as i only see two types of guilds, these being PvP and Non PvP. I also think that the description of the guild HULK may have to calm down a bit as To shape the world in there ideals? May be conflicting with the ToS if that is there aim then so be it.

*edit* And what i said about the HULK guild, im not trying to offend im just trying to give a heads up.

After looking over their guild page, it does not seem like they aim is to be tyrants trying to rule the LO world. In fact it seemed as if they want to assist in keeping the trolling to a minimum. I don't think I finished reading over the whole web page, but based on what I did read, their ideals did not sound as harsh as the "To shape the world in our ideals" sentence they gave me for their guild ad. lol

I wonder if you should add these society type groups as well such as Dark Siders Union and Aequitas for RP.

I've noticed since being on this forum, RP guilds/groups go up and die slowly, but there's lots of people that enjoy RP alot, it's just bad how the groups are run usually, or presented. And the timing between people looking at the threads is off, so people usually miss these RP guild threads.

Infact, I think there was a guild solely for RP at one point named GrimoireHeart's. But they closed down, not sure why.

Maybe you should even add a RP category? Or would that be under social?
