Indeed.

First of all , i appreciate it that you're trying to get this done.

Every decent player knows that Antilead would greatly improve GunZ.
Infact, the reason it DIED , is because of the ping problems, Also it probably has come to your attention that many people been underclocking, with a No-lead server that'd be kinda useless.

BUT.... there's a catch.

A while ago, ijji gave it a try to convince Maiet.
Unfortunately they were having lots of communication issue's.

Right when ijji thought that Maiet agrees with the Anti-Lead system, it turned out they were talking about No-Kstyle servers.
I dont have to tell you that's going to be a dissaster.

Anyways, IF Aeria gets a proper Antilead, i can ensure you that your wallets will fill.
And GunZ will be BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Finally)


Also i must say, that i do agree on some peoples point, Yes it takes more skill to lead, and Yes it kinda works that way IRL to. But think about it .... Wouldnt it be great if a direct hit is just a hit ? Like its supposed to ? I mean come on.. i can upload a numerous amount of replays where i'm pbing a 100+ pinger for atleast 10 time's .... that's not very realistic either if you ask me.

Indeed, i've been suggestion that aswell several times.

Lead servers for the one who likes leading.
Anti-lead servers for people who like direct hits.

I don't know why people are looking forward to an anti-lead system. It's the worst possible solution to anything. Leading makes this game more challenging, I've played several anti-lead servers. They were terrible, people get way too competitive for their own good. Even with lead it's possible to kill players fairly fast. You can get a 30 kill streak on an anti-lead server with little to no effort at all, it all comes down to who fires the first shots and who has the better aim. I've played a server where I've had a 46 streak on a level 1 by walking and spamming shotguns. We have all had to learn how to lead at one point, please don't take away leading.

Competitive is the goal GunZ should be aiming for. You are mixing the word competitive with "arrogant" and "cocky". Which, by the way, both existed in lead servers so this is a useless observation.

Fairly fast is dependent on the stability and value of latency between players. Read the paragraph explaining artificial difficulty.

Has been done on lead servers nothing special here. Also, level 1 means nothing since many private servers have no level requirements on items. If you're bragging about kill streaks in deathmatches and berserkers then I can't take you seriously.

Lead servers comes down to who fires the first shots and who can lead better. See what I did there?

Has nobody here played a game with single digit ping? Was that not truly more enjoyable than unstable spikers or 150 plus ping?


I'm not against lead and anti-lead channels or servers, but even with those my stance is that Anti-Lead should be the primary setting and Lead should be kept for those who cannot or do not want to adapt.

IRL is not a valid point. Games are not meant to be a reflection of "IRL" and lead being more similar to "IRL" is not a good argument for it.

Again, I would not have made this topic if Lead wasn't dependent on ping. Leading is a skill that definitely adds a bit of depth into the game but GunZ's Lead is not only heavily dependent on ping but hard to explain within the game. New players will not understand that latency forces you to lead and it is hard to judge proper hits on high or unstable ping. If you want to play a game that did Lead and Anti-Lead right, try Tribes: Ascend. It's free as well. The weapons in Tribes are split between slow projectiles (Lead), fast projectiles (Lead), and hitscan (Anti-Lead). They do suffer from a bit of imbalance but HiRez is doing their best to combat that.
