I’m glad to see you’re pressuring the developers on this after all.

Deleting/hiding the previous thread was unnecessary, however: it was a fascinating discussion and a lot of good suggestions were made that the community should be able to refer to. Edit the title and first post and lock it if you must but please undelete/unhide it.

Will you rethink the merger and consider enabling character transfers between servers instead? This way, players can decide where they want to go, if they want to go at all. Please don’t underestimate the sense of community on each server.

Lastly—if these mergers go ahead—will you consider my suggestion that, if there are two characters or guilds with the same name on a merged server, the character or guild that has been so named the longest keeps the name. The second character or guild is renamed. As I wrote previously, our characters are our online identities and our guilds our families. Please don’t tell us that it’s tough luck. This will cause unnecessary drama, benefitting only the griefers and cheats who will take advantage of others by claiming to be someone they’re not.

Ah good dragonoa yes I wanted to quote the bit about families but as thread is gone was unable. I agree about first who got the name to keep names, individuals and guilds.

As this has been postponed and feelings appear to be taken in to account I will now be constructive with a list of things I would like to be taken into consideration. I will do this when ready but one of them was the name issue which I actually think is a real biggy in the long run and foresee many issues if this is not dealt with sensitively.

Seriously who got 4+ high level characters on ONE account across two servers?
I know little players with more than 2x 165+ chars and they all have their characters on different accounts for security reasons etc.
I don't get the point why people were so afraid of this keep-your-4-highest-chars-solution.

I was only concerned about name stealers after the merge...

I was sad about hearing the change of plans, i was really looking forward to it. I really hope it doesn't take that much longer to make it happen.

My only issue with it was the name thing.

I think it's not against the ToS to create several accounts with characters you actively play (not for spam/exploiting reasons).

Oh and it was stated that BarunSon declined a character-slot expansion for Last Chaos.

I heard Erraticrat was fighting for this character slot expansion...

Who is he fighting? Is it a 1 v 1? Are they going on 0000's or will it be a line jumper? Can we expect darasuum to come off the top rope just as Erra is about to tap out, thus saving the day?

All kidding aside I am glad they are hammering out the details and trying to get us more character slots. I've wanted more characters for a very long time.

Agree that who made the name(s) first, should keep the name(s). Creation dates and times should already be available to the devs and GM's, and if other players want the same name(s) then hard luck !!

The term "fighting" may be misleading, yet appropriate.
Applying for more character slots means digging up long forgotten evil.
The structure of the database itself, the foundation of the game will be affected by this.
It may well be that modification of this structure is at least as "dangerous" as the merging might have been.
Character selection, inventories of additional toons and many more things yet unthinked of are all affected, so its not only a simple activation of a denied feature but a real piece of hard (re)work.

As i can say, being a refugee from some version where the term "customer care" and the term "information flow" are totally unknown to the publisher, i do believe that we will get all necessary information on time and Aeria will not ignore our fears and other input.
This is all i need to have trust in the future of this game.
