This morning I made a new character and checked for the name "Peanuts" - because Linus VanPelt requires a space. The system told me that the name was free to be used.
When I finished the creation I got the error "You can't use that name".
Checked three more time, and "Peanut" as an alternative (the name is already token).

In the end I just used a different name, but why I couldn't use a name that was not in use, and I suppose is not considered an insult or blasphemy?

I actually had this problem, myself, when I started on Diamond. I found out later (because I didn't think it would matter) that the name was created in all lowercase. This is why I was unable to add them to friends to see if it existed, and yet the game still said the name could not be used.

It's likely that this is what happened, or the name is possibly in the 30-day lockdown period.

As for the "Verify" option, I don't believe it's entirely accurate if it's working at all.

Please someone tell me why it wont let me create a character on EE, I logged on clicked on a server I dont have any characters on( I dont have any characters on any server anyways) and customized my character to the way I liked it, I then put the name in the box and it says it was free to use, but I didn't get any confirm buttom, well I did once but when I clicked it nothing happened, please help me with this problem this looks like an interesting game.

When you click "Confirm" upon designing your character and choosing the starting class/heroic trait, after a few seconds you will see a small window in the upper-left area of the screen which asks you to "Input new character password." You must choose a 6-digit character password in order to complete character creation. Please read the guide here if you have any trouble.
