I can certainly understand your frustration and often felt the same way when I was still in game on a regular basis. My good nature and willingness to help were often seen as a weakness to the players that were self centered and oblivious to the fact that there were other people in the game besides themselves. Fortunately for me, they were the very small minority of the community back then.
While I was away my account got hacked, and then locked, and I had to jump through a few hoops to get it back and cleared and naturally all of my money and gear was lost. I thought about all the gear I had given away over the years, the rez runes that were given, free of charge, to UM players that simply couldn't afford to stay in the game without them, and all the hours that I spent helping people in game, and I was a bit angry, but then it passed.
I realized that people could try to scam me and sometimes get over on me. They could hack my account and steal everything I owned and they could make fun of me and call me whatever they liked, but they couldn't take my most important possession, and that is the person that I am.
I will always be that same helpful person, no matter what they do or say. It is my nature and I simply refuse to let them deny me of it.
It is your nature as well and although you may be more selective in who you help and how, you won't change your basic nature. You help because it makes you a better person and even when they don't appreciate it, you still feel good inside. There is nobody in this world that can take that away from you.
I've seen the care you put into helping and at the end of the day, the world of Shaiya is just a fantasy and the items only pixels, and you are still respected and loved by the majority, so yes, Congrats Shaiya Community, because I believe when the bruises go away you will continue to be YOU and the community will continue to win, and that matters to the good people and eventually the bad ones get what they deserve.
Keep your chin up and keep making a difference.
