As far as I know our english wetpaint version has the most information of all, but the german wetpaint has a lot already.

We could put have an introduction page, where we could reference to the other wikis (all the other languages)

Not sure if it would help to translate just the vital information, as players would most likely not find their way through the english wetpaint, to get to the german/french/spanish/polish/etc parts

That would only work for the German wiki, as I have yet to find a good Spanish wiki, and the French one is missing lots of bits and pieces last time I checked.

Navigating to the Translated sections shouldn't be a problem, as it is placed right under the 'Home' section (we could ask for help to make a banner pointing them to the Translation section, or put up Deutsch, Francais, Espanol etc. with a hyperlink to those pages.

@jronezero, the wetpaint is a 3rd party website. Wetpaint is in no way affiliated with AG&E.

yeah i know its not affiliated with AGE, however it is a website created for the benefit of players playing Last Chaos, and the more people know and are able to find information about a game, that's better for AGE and if they can import that language selector so that anyone speaking any language that the selector supports, the better right?

and @lapis, i could care less about my forum rank or post count lol

That is true, even tho I dont speak french or spanish, I heard ppl asking for info they couldnt find.

Wouldnt it be easier to cohost the existing wikis, or better starting a french / spanish wetpaint on its own and linking the different wikis together?

That way, the navigation would be the same on all wikis (like pages and subsections) and if someone wishes to translate a page, he would still have the english wetpaint as a reference.

I did think about that, but until it is clear that there are enough people willing to help out, it just does not seem feasible to me.

now a silly nothing-to-do-with-OP question

http://www.aeriagames.com/wiki/index.php?game=lastchaos

what's wrong with that one?

In one word: everything.

Too much to explain why that wiki is not a good idea (and it does not contribute to the language barriers).

if using a translator (web browser addon/extension) is not feasible then i would recommend finding someone bi lingual who can read English and create a wiki website in their own native language and give them some type of incentive because that would be a lot of work to type/translate

the idea is to help players who play primarily on aeria games version and dont understand english, English Wetpaint is a guide for aeria games version, the other wetpaint are guides for gamigo version, there is more than one diference between aeria games version and gamigo version for exemple the affinity systéme exists in our version and not in the others so for someone who dont speack english he will never understand what is the affinity systéme

Pim seems a big task but I like the sentiment behind it as yes many of our players do not have English as first language and anything that helps those not so strong in English and brings the community together, no matter what country, is a plus in my eyes.

Why don't you utilise the list of players who have offered help with regard to language. I am sure if you pm some of them, depending what language you start with, they would love to assist.

I'm ok to translate some page into french, but a whole wiki is way too much work (well, could take a while).

Also linking to already existing other langage wiki is perhaps not a good idea because there is now quite a lot of information that differ between version, or some information will be useless because of very differents strings betweens version. EX : If a french player of US version is looking for information for quests, if he go the the already existing french wiki made for the french version, the information there will be useless because name of the NPC, monster, reward etc. will be in french...
