I hadnt logged in for about a year in my account, the ID is: themindscape and when I did log in today I had no toons! I remember I also had AP items and some AP left that I keep there for when I start playing again and now its all gone!

Please look into this asap.

are you sure that you have checked the right server ? the server order list got replaced on some moments in the past. To be sure, i would check all the 4 servers. If you aren't able to find your toons, it is best to send in a ticket here : contact us - game support

About your AP, you can check it right now. Just access this website with your old account and look at the top. there is an AP button icon with the AP number left of your profile name.
