So, I just started and managed to screw up a quest. It's one of the first ones where you have to give Brandy to an epic hero, but I used the list and then it disappeared and I never got to give any brandy. What do I do?

Now you go to Heros screen. Then the Epic Heros tab at the top. Click on the hero and when viewing the hero, there is a place to give gifts. Someone may have better instructions with screen shots in one of the new game guides.
