I'm having the exact same problem here, and I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the new password feature. Did any of you set a password on your characters? I didn't, but I'll try setting one and see if it mitigates these freezing spikes.

After reading pages and pages, seems like there is no solution at all other than shuffling with drivers.

I am on Windows 7 x64 Service Pack 1

And my PC specs are:

Foxconn P45A-S Motherboard
2x ATi Radeon HD4870 in ATi Crossfire (even tried discrete setup as well)
Intel Core2Duo E6300
2GB DDR2 800 (2x 1GB in Dual Channel)

No hardware issues, Borderlands, Unreal Tournament III, Bulletstorm, Counter Strike 1.6, Source, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, GTA IV, ALL of these games run without any hick ups and smooth on 1680x1050 resolution for atleast 2hours of gameplay.

Seems like there is nothing to talk about for EE in this regard. Its game engine specific issue which hasnt yet been resolved.

Sooner I log into game, my PC freezes to death after about 3-4 minutes of gameplay. Lucky 1 try out of 20, I am able to play without any crash coming up.

My previous rig was:

AMD Phenom II x4 920 Deneb
ASUS M3N-HT Deluxe Motherboard
2x HD4870 in ATi Crossfire (catalyst from guru3d)
2GB DDR2800 (2x 1GB in dual channel)

and I could play endless times till I wanna quit. Now changed to Intel's and getting bashed right away. Better ask devs for a solution than just diagnostic reports etc etc.....

I'd opt out for other entertainment resources if it keeps happening. cya till its resolved

I just came to say that I am having the same problem on my parents' computer. Which is strange because my parents have a better graphics card then the computer I have back at my own place.
At my own place it works perfectly fine, even with my 3 other room mates playing at the same time.

I've noticed that it works at night time. At around 9, or 10 PM PST, I try to get on and it works quite well. There is no freezing, and everything is great. It has been 2 days, and every time after 9 it has worked!

I just really want to play because my room mates are really into it now, and I'd love to level up so I can join the fun.

is this problem fixed yet ?
