The game launcher will not locate or identify the current version while under a different user profile in Windows 7 64bit. Clicking on "Launch Game" brings up an error message that it is not installed correctly however the game works perfectly fine under my own user profile (Administrator) which is also the one I had originally installed it under.

I have given the user administrator privileges and manual ownership of the application but that doesn't make a difference either. The game is launched on their profile from a shortcut taken directly from the application in the game directory.

Without resorting to re-installation, any ideas on what would be preventing the launcher from detecting the current version and demanding that it be "installed correctly"?

Side note: Is the version information for the game stored in the registry? This would be user specific.

This issue has been resolved.

Solution:

No registry entries were found in HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>KOEI. Installed and updated the game over the existing directory while logged into the user profile that had the version detection issue. This installed all the necessary registry entries without having to initially uninstall the game. No conflicts experienced while running the application under either Windows 7 user profiles.

I've left this here in case anyone else should have this issue.
