for me the role of a priest is to stay alive,rather than boosting my heals,i would rather increase my def as much as i can which means i'm not going to increase my wis.this however will make my heals extremely low however my death counts will decrease tremendously thus increasing the survivability rate of my raid.the thing is,heals will not save an uber who's hp is around 20-40k w/e.if his hp is below some point,my heals will become futile as it is not enough to completely heal him.to restore his hp fully it would take around 5-6 times pressing heal 7/instant heal + UR.this however will constrain me from dp/heal other ppl where a priest's 2nd role is to dispel as dispel always comes first be4 healing.remember that this guy is an uber,if his hp is below some point,he's as good as dead unless he got lucky or fled the battle/kit [insert escape plan here] this however cannot be achieved if he is stunned which is why as a priest our job is to dispel 1st BUT what if i dispeled him while he is stunned n he dusn't have any time to run far enough n died even with all that stuns debuffs dispeled?if he is bombarded with stuns/debuffs endlessly until his hp is 0,a priest would still hit dispel.with low wis,instant heal would not make such a difference as it will probably heal a very small percentage of his hp + the inconvenience of the recharge time.the only way to gain a large portion of hp bck is not by relying on priest's heal 7 or instant heal,but by potting.potting is the only thing that could save him if his hp is extremely low,a priest can't heal fast enough to cope with the dmg taken.
let's say :
defender : 40khp
prst : 5k heals
total dmg taken by defender per second : 8k,10k,12k,
dmg taken per/s
Responding : total hp
Manipulated : dmg taken/s
Fixed : uber's def,uber's initial hp,heal/s
the increase of no. of ppl inflicting dmg towards 1 person increases the damage taken by that person
the dmg taken/s increases as the length of being stunned increases
(which explains why the dmg/s increases in the table)
if i replace heal/s with dispel/s this will give enough time for the uber to escape,the problem is,what if the dispel/s is equal to or greater the stuns/s?
the dmg taken differs for each players,and so is the heal/s but as attack increases,the need for def also increases not only to dps but also to healers this will result in the decrease of wis where else attacks + def will get higher n wis decreases until heals becomes futile in increasing the survivability rate of the dps which can be solved by the dps clicking pots or by dispelling
