int wis is super random...either stat to heal OR dps, i can't see just 2 int a lv being to effective.

But anyway, what are you going to be doing, pvp, farming, lvling.

PvP the most common build is probably full rec.
Stat all your base point in REC. Link rec, wis, life, absorb into gear.
With new gears you can heal 7k's no problem.

Never tried a mixed wis/rec build, but if you know what you're doing it'd work just as well

Depends what level you are aiming for and what purpose your toon will be for, as Fawks said. I wouldn't suggest int/wis, if you want to make a borc I suggest full int and if you want a healer you could try wis/rec for grinding. People add different amounts of rec, if you want to emphasize the healing then put more wis but if you like to be able to solo or tank then add more rec.

What kind of gears you have / will have also affects a lot what route you should go with your base stats.

Full Int as a BP/Borc is the most common, but I would suggest a Rec/Int build and gear the same with life and abs added in. You are a little less squishy then.

I have a HM priest-tank as mentioned above.
Currently at lvl 34 and tanking 4-5 oranges with crap gear. (no lapis) (Dirt Poor)
It's all in the strategy really.

But as a priest, unless you can solo purples (Rich=Not me Sad )
then your quickest bet is to have a duo partner(Mage, fighter, or a healer) or a full party.
(Stray away from half-parties as most of the time you will lvl get more xp (over time) on yellows solo than purples half PT.)

My build is 5 rec/2 wis until lvl 30 then 4rec/2wis/1 int (For a little extra kick on your AoE )

All of my HM healers have been 4 rec 3 wis, with stat points it evens out, and works fine for tanking, and healing in parties at low levels. i only used HM healers at low levels.

As far as UM, i used 5 rec 4 wis at low levels, it also evens out. works well until about the 50s, then id suggest full rec and gear linked with safe/wise lapis. Full rec from then on out is probably your best bet, unless you are in excellent gear, you can get away with full wis at 70. Orcs hate it but DDs love it. Neutral

@Tag: If you would go all-out and do Full REC, you would have no problem tanking full rooms of red mobs in a dungeon (ESPECIALLY at 34, as that's when you get Dispel 3 and UR). Adding a couple WIS to your build barely helps your healing potential, but greatly reduces your tanking potential. For soloing, Full REC is the best. If you want to find parties, do 5 WIS/2 REC or something. Don't half-*** it.

@Tag and OP: Putting 2 (or less) INT per level is completely useless. It's barely helping your damage potential. If you're not going to be full INT, don't bother with INT.

The best build for a BP/borc is full INT. You can link in REC. No need for that in your build.

Another option, if you'd like, is to go full REC until around level 51 or so. This will allow you to tank just fine in Pando, the Jungle, and DD1. Since VR is much harder to tank, at 51 start going full WIS and leave the tanking to someone else. By 70, you'll have a decent amount of WIS this way.

It also depends on what level you are targeting, and the purpose of your priest.

Leveling-wise you do not need much rec to heal when grinding. If you are in a party, just cast UR and maybe restore and GHP on tank and just HEAL DISPEL HEAL DISPEL DISPEL!! A dead priest is a dead party. At least with rec, you are more likely to survive and kite mobs and still heal. If tank dies too easily, it means that the tank shouldn't be tanking no matter how much wis you got.

Luc build is mainly if you wanna be a battle priest and not have to rely on EB or nos to crit. A battle priest is essentially like a water mage, with less killing skills but have healing skills.

Regardless of build, I highly advocate including REC in the build and/or gears. Absorptions are a huge PLUS. What is the point in healing if you die in 1 hit? Also, what is the point in having tons of attack if you get killed by the time you get to cast your skills (aside from the instant cast skills)?

Me, I have a 60 UM priest with mage gears with more or less an int/rec build. I got tips from Mrs. Skull and a few mages on how to build my battle priest.

@ Mrs. Skull: I am trying to push for 2,000 magic attack at level 60 on my priest.

@ tiamats - BTW my BP is lvl 70 um and has over 1400 def and 2900 attack, so I still advocate REC in your build.

If you just link REC 6/7's you can get this, but at lvl 70 you will be hit hard if you pvp and higher def is a must. I would advise if you go BP, link life 7/safe 7/mystic 6&7/Abs 5&6 in every piece or the comparable in the helm and top. Example Forbid 7. Life 7 is better than safe 6.

I am full INT, linked INT/REC (I'm sure I mentioned that already). I less def and attack than you, meaning you are linked better. I only have one 7 linked in my main gear (one of my off-weapons has a 7 linked, but I don't use it. Poo). I am trying to link more 7's, but I broke SEVEN 7's (5 Assault and 2 Mystic) with 32% chance on bonus linking Sunday. -_- That being said...I can't really afford Life 7's, though, and I prefer Mystic/Assault 7 over Absorption 6.

Basically, I prefer attack over defense, in general. And here's why: I can't PvP. I'm too poor. I don't buy hundreds of dollars of AP a month. My advice is or other poor people, not for uber rich. Uber rich people pretty much don't need advice, and if they do, well then you give it to them. I want more attack so I can farm and plvl faster, which is how I make money. The REC/absorption I have makes it sufficient for me to tank. I have enough, but not too much. Right now, I'm working on my attack power first (linking a Mystic/Assault 7 into my weapon) so I can farm even faster. I'll start slowly working on better gear after that and eventually work on more defense, absorption, and HP.

When I can afford an Iron Princess [19] linked Swift, 6/7 Mystic/Assault, and ele II +15...THEN I'll worry about reconsidering my build and if restatting with more REC would be better.

Let me give advice to the other people who aren't uber rich. You worry about advising the uber rich. Thanks.
