Hello fellow users,if you dont know what SOPA is,i tell you,its basically a USA bill allowing corporations to be over powered,and it will censor the f*** of the internet,and many but really many email,blogs,imageboards,video hosting sites,and forums websites will be take down,its a bill that is gonna really irritate us,read the wikipedia page,this is serious thread,and it can take the forum down,and forbid us from playing wolfteam,its a virtual aphertaid that must be stopped.

I disagree with a few principles of the bill as well, but you're so full of **** it's coming out your ears.

This website is owned by Aeria and the publishing rights to Wolfteam are owned by Aeria. If you think that SOPA will cause Aeria's own intellectual property and copyright to be taken down, then you're either totally delusional or brainwashed.

Forums could be taken down, considering they have no (programmed-in) restrictions on what users are allowed to post... so there could be copyrighted materials posted somewhere.

The thing about this bill, is that it's almost literally impossible to censor the internet, as a whole. Mostly for all the good that it does for the world:

• Opened up the ability for people to communicate with others from all around the globe. This includes family, significant others, friends, etc.
  
• Excellent tool for sharing information through research
  
• Superb way to provide entertainment (i.e. Games)
  
• It's opened the doors for millions of jobs, both in and out of the United States
  
• And TONS of other things
  

If this bill were to pass, each of those things would be damaged, if not completely destroyed. Little does Congress know, or care. If they want to stop piracy within the US, that's up to them, but they're going to destroy everything else that the internet stands for as well.

if you have a software which you're selling for $.

assume that the SOPA is down, i can crack, copy and spread the software further for free, without asking $.
result => you get barely an income and i don't get problems.

Then change your methods of distributing merchandise.
People have been finding success with models like "Pay what you think it's worth" or they'll make easily-pirated merchandise and do a model like "Pay if you can, pirate otherwise"

If you make expensive... hard-to-crack DRM crap... then users are more likely to resort to pirating. SOPA in itself would not do much at all against piracy, to be honest. You would need a united world-wide effort for such a thing...
Otherwise, people can just move there servers overseas... change their DNS to something like CloudFloor... Use extensions like firefox's 'MAFIAAFire Redirector'.. etc

Or maybe they could hire some young, creative people into congress to think of ideas for solving the piracy 'issue' instead of these crusty old congressmen who don't have the slightest idea what they're dealing with.

Well, you hit the problem right on . Crusty-old Congress Is not seeing the big picture their only acting in the interest of lobbyist . They should add legal ways of creating Tax base
