I'm a new player. There's gotta be others. Hopefully idle cities will be removed soon so that other new players can join as well. Judging by the lack of response I'm getting across the board, you may be right. But some people manage to go it alone, so at worst I'll be going it alone with 15 extra daily quests per day. But I do have some semblance of a plan and many people have been very, very friendly toward me. It definitely could and will succeed.
