Characters would rank faster by counting "Deaths" towards ranking points, but the idea behind PvP is that you earn your rank by defeating the enemy. If you win, you get a little better (+points/rank), if the enemy wins they get a little better (+points/rank).
Players with underpowered characters would simply run into PvP with no gear on and get killed numerous times and while both the "killer" & "killee" get the benefit, the "killer" actually took the time and/or money to build up their gear in the hopes that they could survive long enough to do some good for their side. The "killee" didn't.
people do not wanne pvp anymore if they not 100% sure to overrun the other side ....
if you havent noticed that , then you not a pvp'er in shiaya
- seeing the underpowered people at gate sitting/logging ( no action , like it is today )
- seeing the underpowered people try to go kill something , seeing they get a 1 rank point for trying...
here's a evryday situation example
15 semi uber alliance vs 5 uber fury's in canta etain
( so the fury's spend more time/ money on gear to earn there kills )
* OLD system like it is today
fury's do not get a single kill , while alliance get 5 kills eatch time fury's goes out.
( they stop going out after 2 wipes = death pvp for a few hours )
* New system i introduced kills = deahts
fury's get eatch 1 death ( since you wont get the deaths from others in your raid ), while alliance still get the 5 kills eatch time fury's goes out .
( will probebly try more then 2 times seeing its not a total lost effort / will logg off less fast )
rank padding already exists .... ( and always will ),
with the new system kills= deaht , it woud just make non uber geared players rank to at a much slower rate then the uber pvp'ers.
uber pvp'ers wipe a raid and get full raid kills , non ubers get killed and get 1 point from there death
( so basicly people that spend time/ money in there gears still rank faster, just now you will have alot more non ubers staying to fight seeing its not for nothing)
