Sony Accounts Compromised

(Possible Compromise with Turbine)
If you have any accounts with Sony, it looks like they have a problem again:

http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/10/12/hackers-compromise-33-000-soe-accounts/

http://kotaku.com/5848894/somebodys-trying-to-break-into-your-psn-accountagain

What has happened here is that someone has a database of username/passwords from somewhere (source unknown) and have used it to compromise accounts at Sony again. We have seen something similar here in the past year. Please make sure that you are not using the same username/password combination with different sites. If in doubt, change your password to something unique for each.

---Update---
I was just made aware of this as well.

It is not a confirmed problem.... but it brings up the same point. Do NOT use the same username and password on multiple sites.

The Internet is never stagnant, so Online Security is never stagnant.

There are holes to every security update. Updates must be done to fill those holes, along with preventing new methods of hacking.

after doing some reading, I see that someone stole usernames and passwords from some other site and tried using them on Sony.
so Sony was not hacked this time.
for the people that were compromised, they must of used the same user name and password on Sony as the site that the hackers got the database of account names and passwords from.

I will be safe since I use a different account name and password for each site I register on.
