Psychotic Tendencies
“To New Beginnings”
In the aftermath of a war in the midst of night, a single person makes their way through the scattered remains of fallen soldiers. While stepping over the piles of bodies, the lone person hears a voice in the distance; “Are you satisfied now!? Look at what all you have lost at my hand!!” Climbing up one of the larger piles of bodies, the person, a woman with platinum hair, blood red eyes, and pale white skin, stands on the top of the pile and looks into the distance. From where she stands she looks off to the distance and sees a fully armored black knight with a large blackened great sword covered in a red fiery aura yelling in rage towards the sky above. The woman thinks to herself; “Always one for the melodramatics. I swear if he wasn’t the one who gave me the greatest thrill, I’d be done with him.” As a smile comes over her face, she begins to make her way down the other side of the pile.
As the black knight stares angrily at the sky above, the woman struggles to make her way towards him. Suddenly it becomes more of a struggle to get to him as the ground beneath the piles of dead bodies and the bodies beneath her feet begin to rumble, followed by the loud crashing sounds of thunder. She continues to try to make her way to him as the rumbling becomes more violent and the thundering around them becomes louder, shaking the earth and bodies strewn about as well. A bright golden light soon shines down upon the black knight as an evil grin comes over his face. As his gaze shifts to her, the woman stretches her hand out to him, desperately trying to breach the distance between then. For an instance he gives her a passionate look teeming with undivided love and compassion. It’s the last look from him that she can see as the light from the sky that has shined down upon him becomes brighter and with it’s brightness the thunderous rumbling becomes so violent and tremendous that it tears the very ground itself. As the area around her tears to pieces before her, she loses sight of him, the bright glare then engulfs everything. She screams out his name as she continues to reach out for him, but in the echoing sounds of thunder and tearing earth, her voice cannot be heard. Everything quickly turns to bright white. Then only one voice can be heard in the light; “Excuse, ma’am? Ma’am, are you okay?” “Hey, miss.” “Wake up.”
The same young woman with platinum hair wakes up from a nap she took under a tree as an old heavy set woman and an elderly man lean over her; “You been asleep under this here tree for quite some time now. You feeling okay, dear?” The young woman gets to her feet; “Oh, I’m feeling just fine.” She replies as she walks away from the two. The elderly man tries to catch up to the woman; “Excuse me, miss. Excuse…” The woman turns her head to look back at the elderly man with blood red piercing eyes; “Look, I don’t know who you are and would hate to give you the wrong impression. So please, don’t follow me.” “You haven’t given any wrong impression at all. I was just going to ask you for your hel-…”; before the elderly man could finish his sentence he is cut off by the woman again. “Help, seems I’ve already given you a horrible impression of me.” As she smirks, she begins to walk away. “I know things have to be weird and scary for you. Being in a strange, new world you know nothing about, but when I look into your eyes…” The woman suddenly with instant speed looks the elderly man face to face, eyes to eyes; “I should really try letting you finish your sentences some time, but I have no real intention of ever having conversations with you anyway. More importantly, do tell me, what do you see when you look into my eyes?” The startled elderly man trembles in fear of the woman as he says nothing at all; “You see it too don’t you? Yeah, scared isn’t exactly something I do. To be honest I’m not too, too sure what exactly I do, do. I’m pretty sure that one thing I don’t do is get scared.” As a twisted psychotic grin comes over her face; “Want to see what I think I can do?” The heavy set woman places one hand on the shoulder of the elderly man; “It’s okay, let her go.”; she says calming to him. “Yes, let me go. I promise I’ll be a good little girl and not be such a disappointment to you.” As the woman the looks up at the heavy set woman, then stands up, and begins walking away. The elderly man whispers to the heavy set woman; “But we need her help. We need as much help as possible.” “Her help isn’t the kind we should ever need.” The heavy set woman replies. “You have to trust me.” The elderly man struggles with his cane towards the woman again; “I have a question for you, please hear me out.” The woman instantly pulls out her sword and swings it towards the elderly man. The heavy set woman is only fast enough to react in horror as the woman motions to strike the elderly man down fatally. The man explains with haste as she makes the motion with her sword; “You’reinneedofmoneyareyounot?!” Her blood red eyes looking at the man emotionlessly for a moment then she gives a joyous smile like that of a happy little girl; “Wow, I never knew someone your age could talk so fast. Yes, yes I am in need of some money.” The elderly man’s head is raised up as the woman stopped herself from killing the man with her sword up against his throat. “What did you have in mind?” The woman then puts her sword back to her side and then gives the man a serious look, followed with a scared look of worry; “You’re not one of those perverted old men who wants to pay me money to get naked in front of, are you!?” She then grabs the handle of her sword, but before she can do anything else the heavy set woman rushes to the elderly man; “No, no, he’s not like that at all!” “Oh, that’s too bad. I have no objections to entertaining the elderly.” As she laughs for a second then looks at the two of them; “So what did you have in mind anyway?”
The elderly man explains the town’s situation with monsters and wild yak roaming about the countryside outside of town. “So what you’re saying is that you want me to kill off the wildlife in the countryside?” As she gives the man a strange look; “That’s not exactly what he’s saying. They’re just too many yak and the monsters are terrorizing the locals.” The heavy set woman says to her. “So, it still sounds like I’m killing things out in the countryside.” She replies with a smile on her face. Before the elderly man can give the full details of his request the woman puts her finger against his mouth to stop him; “Shh, don’t speak. My name is Lucifer, but you can call me Luci.” The heavy set woman attempts to speak but suddenly Lucifer points a sword at face; “Worry not fair maiden, I’ll kill those terrible monsters for you and your townspeople.” As a big psychotic smile comes over her, the heavy set woman looks with worry and concern. Lucifer then runs off towards what appears to be her first quest as the two look on with worry over what they feel they may have unleashed onto the world; “Are you sure it was wise to send her on a task like that? I fear she may get carried away. Not to mention we already sent a few other people on the same task.” The elderly man says nothing, just looks on as Lucifer soon escapes his sight; “I never seen you look so still with fear before.” The heavy set woman says with great concern then she asks; “You looked into her eyes, like you did the others the miners found. She isn’t like the others, is she?” The elderly man remains silent, until the woman calmly places her hand on his shoulder. She then notices him trembling with fear; “Dear God, you’re frightened. What did you see in her eyes? Surely she is like the others who came out of the crystals, right?” The elderly man simply places his hand over hers and then holds it tightly.
Lucifer makes her way to the countryside, where she begins her onslaught of everything before her, cutting through the yaks and mushroids in the area. As she tears her way through one beast after another, she does it with a smile on her face. Other warriors similar to her are also in the area killing monsters and yak, but she pays little to no mind to them. While others travel elsewhere, Lucifer continues killing every beast that is in eye’s sight of her. As a male warrior approaches a yak Lucifer rushes to it, slicing off its head instantly. Spilling blood on the warrior; “What the…!?” The warrior then turns his attention to Lucifer who not stands a few feet away from him. Angry over the loss of a potential kill, the warrior begins to walk towards her; “I don’t know who the **** you think you are, but that was my kill!” Lucifer, holding the head of the freshly killed yak, pays no attention to the warrior approaching her. “Don’t you ignore me **** it! I’m talking to you!”; he yells at her as he continues on towards her. Lucifer then turns towards the warrior; “Do you think this head would look nice in a living room?” Caught off guard by the her question, he only gives her a strange questioning look as a response. “I think it would look nicely in a living room. Of course I would need a house in order to having a living room to put it up in.” She continues on for a moment, until the warrior is too frustrated to tolerate anymore. “Shut the **** up, you stupid witch!!” Lucifer stops talking as the frustrated warrior stares at her; “You stole my kill! Nobody steals from me, nobody.” The warrior stops walking and stands before Lucifer; “You owe me something for your disrespect.” Lucifer then gives the warrior a strange look for a moment then as if a light bulb had sparked in her head; “I am terribly sorry about that. I honestly had no idea that a person so far away from the yak I was closer to had marked it. So here you go.” As she tosses the head of the yak to the warrior. Holding the bloody head in horror the warrior remains still as Lucifer walks by him and kisses him on the cheek; “I am so, so sorry for stealing your kill. Consider that a peace offering, ‘kay?” Lucifer then continues on her killing spree of monsters in the area. The warrior just stands in shock at the response she gave him.
The day passes and turns to night, everyone in the town turn in for the night and sleep comfortably in their beds. The elderly man kneels down at his bed and begins to make a prayer; “Thank you holy father for allowing me to see another day. If your will is to take me this night, I am yours to tak…” Before he can finish his prayer he is interrupted by an uninvited guest; “Talking to yourself is a sign of senility.” The elderly man opens his eyes in fear, but does not turn to face the visitor; “Perhaps you are getting to that point, I mean you are pretty old after all.” Lucifer takes a seat next to the elderly man on the edge of his bed; “You know, as I was eradicating all the wildlife outside of this town. I realized I knew nothing about this place at all.” A look of deep thought comes over Lucifer for a moment; “I was also thinking, I know even less about me. I don’t know where I came from, where I been, anything. I know absolutely nothing about me.” The elderly man only looks before him and not at Lucifer as she then becomes silent, his eyes look to where she was sitting. She looks at him with irritation; “Someone your age should know how rude it is to not pay attention to a guest. It’s a sign of poor manners.” Lucifer jumps on the bed, lands on her hands and knees, and looks the elderly man face to face; “Surely you’re a man of manners, right?” The elderly man shivering with fear shakes his head yes. “Good, that is awesome to hear. So tell me, who is the darling man in the suit of armor I seen in my dreams?” Lucifer then gets up from the elderly man’s bed and spins around joyfully; “It’s weird, I feel so excited just thinking about him.” She then places one hand over the other as she presses them against her chest with a head over heels expression; “He’s so dark, so powerful, so dreamy.” The elderly man struggles to get to his feet; “I’m not sure who you are talking about.” He says. Lucifer looks at the old man as he struggles to get to his feet. The elderly man is then startled as Lucifer places her hands on his arms and turns him around to face her. She looks at him with her blood red eyes; “You said you look into the eyes of everyone who arrived in your lovely town. I know you saw something, but you never really told me what you saw. You saw him didn’t you? You saw the man in the black armor.” “I do not know who you are talking about. I swear to God on that.” The frightened old man replies. “To God, you say?” Lucifer’s eyes slowly begin to turn from blood red into a blackened void of darkness; “God. God. You swear to God you don’t know anything.” The elderly man shivers violently in fear; "You shouldn’t swear to those who wouldn’t lift a finger to stop me from tearing you apart, old man" Although he couldn’t understand exactly what she had said to him, the feeling of utter hatred in her eyes was enough to understand what she was implying. “Forgive me for offending you, Luci.” Instantly a joyous smile came over her as if nothing had happened; “It’s ok you old coot.” Lucifer then lets go of the old man as her eyes return to their blood red color; “Look, I killed all those things you asked me about. So I was curious about when you were going to pay me.” “Right, let me get to my chest and I can pay you.” The elderly man walks over to a chest in his room against the wall. Lucifer whistles about as the old man walks back to her with some silver; “Here you go, just as I said I would.” The elderly man places the silver in Lucifer’s hand. Lucifer then gives the elderly man a dissatisfied look; “Gee, thanks for this ‘money’ you gave me.” The elderly man becomes fearful again as Lucifer just looks at him; “I’m, I’m sorry. We’re a poor mining town. I can’t afford to pay more than that.” Lucifer then smiles; “It’s okay, I guess I’ll just have to sleep here for the night.” The elderly man, nervous as well as scared, does not object to Lucifer’s desire to stay the night in his home. Before he can direct her to a spare bedroom, Lucifer sticks her sword into the floor of his bedroom. “Huh? What are you doing?” Lucifer reaches behind her to undo her straps; “I’m getting ready for bed silly.” Following her response, all of her heavy gear drops to the ground, leaving her with only a white tank top and black undies; “That’s so much better.” Lucifer then stretches herself, popping her bones; paying no attention to the awkward position she has placed the elderly man in. She gets into the elderly man’s bed as if it were hers; “Um, I’ll take the guest room then.” But before the elderly man can walk out the room; “No, this is your bed, right?” “Yes, but surely you’re not…” Lucifer interrupts; “Then come to bed.” Hesitant to do as she requested; “I wouldn’t feel right doing that.” “You should really reconsider that. It’s poor manners to refuse a guest’s request, you know.” She says as looks at the elderly man. He slowly gets into bed with her, fully clothed; “That’s better.” She says as she instantly wraps her arms around him from behind; “Takes a dirty old man to get in bed with a young beautiful woman like myself.” Instantly the old man defends himself against the implications of perversion; “I am a man of honor and respect. I would never...” Lucifer giggles a bit and then pulls the old man closer to her from behind him. Seconds later she passes out.
The elderly man has no intention of sleeping, he thinks to himself as he lies helplessly in the arms of a person unlike any he has seen before; “Of all the people we have found in the mines. This one if far different from any I have seen in all my years. I fear we may have brought something back into this world God did not intend to be set free. If it be the case, please forgive me Lord. For we know not what we may have done.” Lucifer as well as the rest of the village, aside from the elderly man sleep throughout the night.
Elsewhere, in a mining tunnel far from Limestone, a team of miners stumble upon a mysterious case. “What the heck is this?” One of the miners says. “**** if I know, take it to the boss. Maybe it’s worth something.” Another one says. The miner runs outside the mine to a small stationary caravan where an older bearded man stands next to a table overlooking a map; “So if we keep digging this way, we should find…” “Sir, sir, the fellas and I found this in the mines.” As the miner places the case on the table, the bearded miner takes a close look at the case. “Go get me that crowbar over there.” The miner eagerly rushes to grab the crowbar, and then after numerous, tiring attempts he manages to open it. Inside the case is a single black armored gauntlet for a left hand; “It’s a gauntlet.” The miner inspects it a little; “Seems to be in great shape too.” The bearded miner turns to ask the miner a question, but he isn’t there. The bearded miner then turns to look behind him to see before him four large ursuns. One of the ursun has the now dead miner by the neck with his teeth, he then drops the dead miner on the ground as a female’s voice can be heard from behind them. “Excuse my associates for the rude interruption, but I do believe you have something that my employer has spent a great deal of time looking for.” As a gray skinned female mage steps forward as the ursuns move to the side to let her walk through. “The gauntlet, yeah, but you’ll find that I don’t scare so easily lady.” The mage stands before the miner as he speaks to her; “I could care less about what you do to the miners, but if you kill me, then I wouldn’t be able to help you find the rest of the pieces.” The miner looks at one of the ursuns; “I know you don’t have all the pieces of this armor. So let’s make a deal.” The bearded miner looks back at the mage; “Pay me, five-hundred thousand gold, up front and I’ll get to work on finding the pieces, then pay me another five-hundred thousand per-piece I find. How is that?” He says with a greedy grin on his face. The mage says with no emotion at all; “No deal.” “Then forget it, the gauntlet is mine.” As the miner grabs the case off the table and tries to walk away, only to have an ursun standing in his way. “Look here teddy bear, you don’t scare me. I whipped bigger bears back in place.” He says to the silent ursun. “I have a better deal in mind for you sir.” The mage says to the miner as he turns to look at her; “And what might that be?” “I will let my pet here eat your flesh and crush your bones into a powder.” The mage says as the miner then looks up at the ursun in fear; “Then we will dispose of your mining crew by the same means and cause a cave-in, making it appear to be an accident. Therefore, it is no money out of my pocket, my pet is satisfied, and no one will ever know of our presence here.” The mage walks by the ursun and the miner; “After all, my employer made it quite clear that we were to leave no witnesses if ever seen while in search of the pieces.” “Hey, wait, maybe we can work out another deal!” The miner says to the mage as her and the other ursuns head towards the mine tunnel. The other ursun just looks down at the miner saying nothing, just looking at him with cold, emotionally dead yellow eyes. The miner looks up at the ursun; “Maybe I can make a deal with you?” The ursun then growls, revealing his many teeth, before the miner can say anything else the ursun attacks the miner. Tearing into him and killing him as the scream of miners and the roaring sounds of the ursun echo in the darkness around the mining area. These sounds go on deaf ears as no else, but the miners and their attackers are in the area.
