How-To Videos: Soloing 3 Man Bosses as a Cleric

Solo strategies for 3 man instances. Slain recently added. No Overleveling Necessary!
Sometimes it's hard to get a group going for an instance and then when you finally do, you get a group full of idiots or ninjas so i'll show you how to ditch the scrubs and do it yourself. If you're confused about anything just read the description. If you still have questions about the boss fight or trash then feel free to ask on this post or send me a personal message.

Im within a legitimate level range for these dungeons. Obviously, overleveling an instance by 10 levels and then completing it, can hardly be considered a "solo."

I made this character on a new server so I wouldn't be tempted to twink him. Basically what that means is that anyone, actively playing a cleric, can do these. Also, by soloing every instance you get a lot more experience than you normally would. So expect to be a level or 2 higher than your last character when you reach these instances.

I apologize in advance. The quality isn't the greatest and there is no sound. I tried implementing sound but my key mashing was much more prominent than the game.

I welcome everyone to post their solo videos as well. No doubt many of you will do it better than I did. Many of these were far from flawless.

Morticora ADDED!!

I'll do Branda Root later on tonight or some time tomorrow.

Will also do the 1st boss in Rotten but Bug Queen Abby isn't soloable.

EDIT: Bug Queen Abby is in fact soloable!

I tried to solo Tasos Channel in CB but failed miserably. I didn't use a shield in my off-hand though.
Would that have made a significant difference?

Definitely. I use the level 20 crafted shield/mace in this solo video. And I'm pretty certain if i didnt i wouldve died. Also if you dont reset angela like i did in the video you definitely won't succeed either. It is really tricky to do, however.

Up until recently I just saw this place as "unsoloable." Because I tried a few different things and failed and gave up.

Ahhhh I see. The extra defense would make the most sense if you were soloing instead of going in with 2 maces like I did. >.>

Looking forward to seeing more!

The damage and stats from a second mace is pretty bad, honestly. I would prefer shield even running around questing.

The mitigation from a shield is less than the effectiveness you get from +gheal/casting etc... with a second mace. Even a mace with agi/evasion is better than using a shield for a cleric.

I don't see how are going to solo the second boss in Branch without playing perfectly. All it takes is one AOE sleep to hit and your run is done. Null Heart on the other hand isn't bad as long as you remember to cure right after every big dark circle you see. Started soloing NH when turning 39 on my cleric.

This isn't my first time doing these. I've soloed branda on 2 other chars. And you're right. 1 sleep and you're done. I've died many times doing it but I pretty much got it down. And I even pull out a gun and break him first to boot! Null Heart can be done pretty early. Shouldnt have to be higher than 33. Just can't let too many of those dots stack on you and at 25% he starts casting 2 aoes so you can sit back out of range and get a lot of free shots in. Easy fight.

As for the double mace thing you're sorely mistaken. Soloing is about survival. A shield provides about a 50% defense bonus not to mention you still get stats on shields and the ability to block as well. Which means it comes down to just trading large amounts of defense for slightly more damage which isn't very strategic. That 12 extra g-healing you get from a second mace is a joke in these situations and since most of your healing comes by way of life cure, (which is completely unaffected by your g-healing) a shield is a far better choice.

+1. This is nice. I learned something new. Especially on soloing Tasos. I used to take on them both at the same time because I couldn't figure out how to separate them. It was waiting for the AoE all along.
