Awesome sig.

I usually snooze, but this time I wanted to be active. Disappointing I chose an unwanted class.
What about then martial artists and sworddancers? Same deal?

Same stigma is attached to all of the melee DPS unfortunately. It's a shame, but kind of understandable given the mental capacity of most of the people you'll encounter if you join random parties. Any braindead player can sit back and shoot stuff on Ranger and contribute, but a bad melee DPS is gonna just make life more difficult for the healer for only a marginal DPS gain (which is completely null and void when they start healing the boss or kill themself...). I'll admit, there's a couple of bosses I'd rather not take a melee DPS on (unless it is someone I can trust to play well), but for the most part I love the melee classes. They can pump out some awesome damage (far more than the ranged DPS outside of AoE situations vs Engineer imo). Thief is gonna be incredible when PvP arena actually comes out too. Keep at it and maybe you can actually change some peoples minds about them by playing well. I think once people get acclimated to the game the melee classes will get more appreciation. But right now most people are used to playing games where they just sit there hammering hotkeys rather than having to put forth some effort to avoid attacks.

not so sure about thieves D: since when i was training mine it was hard to find a party for dungeons outside of my guildies~ but MAs on the other hand >_> hit HARD and hit FAST. sooo.. really helpful for mobs who have tons of hp D: though they still die easy, they last longer than thieves since they get hp / defense boosting talents to dump your knowledge points into ;D just give it awhile since melee DPSs dish out insane damage in this game :l

ty to Serahni for the awesome picture <3GF - rainbowdash- level x templar quill rpy- wizard soarin- x zerk ee- llusion- level something>

Do not worry, my fellow dps friends.

The great time for Thief/MA/Blade dancer is about to come.

First, pvp: DPS and hitters are allways good in pvp.

Second, grinding: In later levels, quests will be out before you can level up, so we'll need to kill mobs to level up. Tanks for mob? Healers? mages asking for Mp pots? NO!
Just fast kill ! DPS! No aoe, right, but... fast kills!

Even better for Blade dancer. They got plenty of area buffys AND are dps, of course. Who will need a priest/bard???

If I can help it, I'd rather run without a melee dps. Having many of them tell me how to do my job's left a bad taste in my mouth.

People need to understand healing in this game, to understand why spots for melee dps are hard to find.

Boss encounters in both 3 man and 5 man dungeons require your main healer to be pretty much spamming their biggest heal constantly on the tank. Healers aren't "lazy"; they simply don't have enough time to be constantly tossing around heals to other people. Which is why you see the Cleric/Bard combo so much. If you pay attention you will see a cleric or bard constantly casting heal spells and remove debuff on the tank... just as fast as you are spamming your melee abilities.

Healing in EE is very active and a missed heal after a big boss hit or a missed group heal after an AOE is pretty **** hard to recover from. Plus the cleric group heal/group cleanse are *targetable* (STUPID, STUPID, STUPID) which makes them take even longer to get off, especially when lag is factored in... and then there is click to move that can cancel your cast, or even if you click on a PERSON when targeting the area effect it cancel the cast. Healing can be very frustrating in this game because of the interface and spell design choices.

The game would be a lot better for EVERYONE if the player health pulls were at least 15% higher.

Lol, if a healer cant heal DPSers and tanks at the same time they probably shouldnt be healing...

It's not difficult, spam purifying wind, stack HoTs, and use the f1-f5 keys to cycle through party members to drop a heal.
