Well in grand fantasia i clearly remember not getting gold whispers unless I spoke in chat. I guess their system just spams people who are talking. I'm sure they'll adopt a similar system.

This kind of thing is the reason I love having a blacklist in these types of games. With how often these bots are spawned however, it can be rather difficult to block them all. Maybe a naming filter that won't let your name have more than 5 A's in it? XD Lol jk.

Thank you for this! I just started playing, and although I love the game, the spam whispers were getting soooo annoying. Thanks again! ^_^

yea so apparently these gold spammers have found a way around this... I received a couple of messages in my mail box now with there spam nonsense...

They can also friend list people and have a bot that whispers that way.

Yeah I always thought the fact that you could add someone as a friend without confirmation was, exploitable to put it lightly.
