I feel incredibly stupid but I can NOT figure out how to turn off World chat.
It's full of idiots and it's driving me nuts.
How do I turn it off?

How do I whisper?

To whisper: /t name-of-the-person message
Or right click their name on the chat and choose whisper.

To add on to what Kuro said, you can use CTRL+R to respond to someone who whispered you recently.

Example:
If I whispered you, then you press CTRL+R, it will automatically fill out, for you, "/t DashutoRyoko" (Without quotations of course) so you don't have to type it.^^

It would be nice if you told the rest of us how you did it.....

Try not to necro really olds threads... That are pointless. And I'm pretty sure there's a button in the chatbox where you can change the chat settings.

Sorry, this was the only thread that referenced turning off world chat at all. It is actually currently very relevant because of the new peer chat function which is turned off the same way and extremely annoying.

For everyone else who can't find it via google search, forum search, the wiki, the website and everywhere else that it SHOULD be listed and is not....

There is a little keyhole looking deal to the left of where you type messages. If you click here, you can select what chats you want to show and hide.

but it is terribly incomplete. I haven't been playing this game long, but it seems like the wiki is lacking a lot of things to support people in game play. I don't mean simple little things like this necessarily, but if I wanted to figure out where to get something or craft something, it is pretty nonsensical to piece together from the wiki. Probably won't make a personal mission of mine or anything, but who knows...
