I am all about the Amazon.com game buying. Pre-orders with lowest-advertised-price guarantee, no tax/free shipping, and competitive prices all around are a strong combo that it's hard for brick-and-mortar retailers to match, especially as retail stores tend to only offer the more mainstream games. Earlier this year, when I was looking for a copy of Radiant Historia, I went to five stores without finding a copy. Eventually I found one at a Fry's Electronics (different from the Fry's I had searched in my initial sweep), and I got the ONE COPY I found there.
Brick-and-mortar retail just doesn't stock the games I buy, more often than not. Nobody except Gamestop even carries the DS Dragon Quest games besides DQ9. I don't mean to sound like a blatant shill for Amazon (and they're not paying me for all this good press, sadly), but seriously...if you are a person who likes video games and has access to a credit or debit card, you probably ought to be buying from them.
