Bring Farming Back to Shaiya

Do you remember back in Epi2, 3, and 4 when Shaiya was an MMO like most others? Where people raided for their gear and farmed for the items needed to enhance their gear (lapis)?

In Epi5, it seems that Choi Rock/Aeria stumbled upon a new idea. The idea was to completely remove the endgame farming aspect of the game and instead sell everything for cash. Instead of joining a top guild and working together for gear (or others, buying gear with gold when it trickled down) and then using individual time to farm lapis for that gear, we now simply buy the gear and lapis in tiered promos.

It's common knowledge that AP items have inflated far more than in game farmed items. Lapis may have multiplied 10x in cost, but OPs, Contis, Lapisia, Lucky Charms, etc have all risen 30x in cost. Now that gear is essentially an AP item, it has suffered the same fate. A piece of 65+ costs on average about 35 OPs. Adjusted for inflation, that would have been about 3.5 billion gold at the beginning of Epi4, a time when Goddess pieces (the best gear available at the time) were selling for 1bil.

With the farming aspect of the game removed, we see a game for the rich. We see tiered promotions no longer offering cool bonus stuff, but instead basic necessities like gear and lapis.

I suggest that all Lv60+ gear drop regularly from bosses in the new dungeon, just as the Cryptic Throne once dropped all of the endgame gear and that regular mobs on the invasion maps all drop Lv5 Dual Lapis, with a low drop rate of Lv7 Lapis. On top of this, the Dreamy and 65+ gear pieces should remain in the drop table for regular mobs in order to alleviate some of the stress of endgame gear only being directly available to top guilds.

Please bring farming back to Shaiya. Not everyone can buy AP, but everyone should be able to gear up through old fashioned farming.

I agree 100% and support entirely. It used to be that Time = money, in that if you spent enough time you were rich in game. Now only money = money, which is a sad state indeed Sad

That would be nice and I support it. How do level 70 people get lvl 7 lapis now? I know about the tokens of light quest but those stop at 70 from what I understand. Personally I stop worrying about end game gear shortly after they were worth OP hammers instead of gold so it doesn't effect me and the cost to lapis a level 7 lapis with OP hammer and lucky charm on top of the cost of the lapis just isn't worth while for me either. It would be nice if the drop rate was a bit better on armors and level 7 lapis dropped as well.

/agree
+OI min party size lowers/made more accessible.

+token quests made more rewarding. Or at least, if you do get regnum pots, get a stack of 10-20 of them.

Buy them. I heard there's a new repeatable quest at L70 with the latest ep, but can't remember the specifics. It's pretty hard though, and pretty time inefficient.

A bit off topic

I was under the impression that the quests in the new dungeon gave mystra boxes which have a chance to give a lvl 5 dual or lucky lapis. My defender is only 66 so maybe when I get to 70 I'll find out.

/Support all above

i agree with all above do exactly like that and this becomes a good game again
This game have become a game for rich people only, if u can afford to spend 20k AP each month u can basically get whatever u want, and all Armour enchanted higher then anyone else possible can achieve by other means, this game is going downhill and gm is helping it fall. and if gm even reading this witch i start to doubt i dare them to reply

oh i do spend ap alot of it but i cant afford that kind of amount and even if i could i would not spend it on a game im not sure i enjoy anymore,

what fun is a game where everything not possible to achieve in game, but everything is possible to buy, continue like this and the ubers in a year or 2 will be the people having alot of real money and only them,

sell for ap yes ok ofcource evry game need a income but it can not be allowed to make the gap between rich and not so rich to wide that is the downfall of a game, make that gap wider and u soon only have the ap buyers left and when all others are gone they will leave to.,

u say u working on it , then work faster or it will be to late, and, drop rate should be so people can actualy get the items in game something that its not today suggestion here would solve that problem

there is a solution to be able to continue the ap sales and fight inflation the same time u got that solution is above,

it wont solve all but it will be a big start in the right direction to both fight inflation and keep the players, and it was all good ideas

/support as well. I used to farm 12 hours a day but gave up when I realized how futile it was. I used to make good gold doing it. Now it's just a colossal waste of time. 12 hours a day of work for a game I'm enjoying less and less each month? I miss when farming was rewarding. I don't often get to buy AP (did for this months tiered but the last time i could get AP was in 2009) and when I do usually my guildies benefit more than I do. I LOVE the feeling of earning my gear the hard way. At least in EP2-3 and 4 it was possible to complete goals. Now it isn't. Bring back farming. Non-AP buyers need to be treated well too but you can't just cater to AP buyers or else you'll soon find yourself with no players at all. And then where will you be?
