Episode 1 - The Shattered Innocence
With the battle of Guan Du coming closer and closer, many men of the local villages were drafted into Yuan Shao's army without any regard for their family, eve women who were fit for battle, were drafted into an army of inexperienced troops, they were to be the frontline, to die first so Yuan Shao could use many many more to slaughter down the small force Cao Cao had deployed.
Along the troops that were directed to Zhen Ji, there was a uncertain little girl standing with the tall men, wielding quite a unique weapon for her size. A large scythe. Though it was simply given by the military, who mocke her for her size and looks, she seemed to be able to wield it. Despite how she wielded it, she looked rather.. Innocent to be in this kind of thing.
The girl gazed up at the stars, they looked so bright, they were meant to be enjoyed like she used to but right now.. She wasn't even sure anymore.. She just wanted to go back home to her sick mother.. Tears welled up in her eyes, she wanted to hide it but it was noticed, by none other then Zhen Ji. While the girl wasn't seeing her, with her arm against her eyes, trying to rub way away the tears and prevent herself from sniffing, her hand was suddenly taken and pulled towards Zhen Ji, looking up at her with her big teary eyes and it was because of the girl's looks and the sheer innocence her eyes held, that Zhen Ji took pitty on her. " What is your name, little girl? " Again the girl did her best not to stutter and speak with a clear tone, though not realy that effective. " ..Wang F-fujin.. " She wondered what was going to happen to her, she didn't know anything about war, nor how to swing a weapon, she was raised to be a good girl, nothing that could be useful or even close battle wise and Zhen Ji could see that from her despite the perfect wielding of her weapon. " I don't think you belong here.. We should get you home. " Right then Wang Fujin started to smile brightly through her tears, trying to wipe them off. " R-Really!? "
Zhen Ji replied with a smile and a nod, she was about to step close and out of the formation, when Yuan Xi came towards them and yelled at them. " Zhen Ji!? What are you doing talking with the peasants!? She is not allowed to anywhere but die for the Yuan family! " He then grabbed Wang Fujin hard by the arm and pulled her to the front of the soldiers, the poor girl barely able to keep up, holding onto the scythe tightly while the blade made a small track on the dirt, Zhen Ji left speechless, watching thw two head for the front line of the formation. Without hesitation did Yuan Xi throw Fujin onto the dirt and infront of the troops, yelling out to them. " This is what happens when you doubt! You will be put in the firing line and used as a shield! Do I make myself clear!? " The soldiers yelled out an affirmative to their general while Fujin got back upon her shakey feet, trying not to cry again. " NOW START MARCHING! "
Wang Fujin was forced to march forward and towards the closed gate, the men following six steps behind her as ordered by Yuan Xi, the gate opening for Fujin and the troops to head forward towards Cao Ca's west stronghold. While they marched out, Zhen Ji questioned her own position in this so called army, she couldn't agree with using peasants as front soldiers.. But a small girl with no experience as a dummy? Still, she could not open her mouth, knowing Yuan Xi was going to punish her.
The stronghold was in sight but, was she really going to attack it? Each step made her more and more nervous, unable to say anything to the people behid her, she was too afraid. Then the enemy army came in sight, led by a rather unordinairy general. She narrowed her eyes, trying to make out who it was untill one of the men screamed out. " It's Cao Pi and his army! " Within seconds the troops went into dissaray and scattered all over the place, a few tried to run back into Yuan Xi's base but the gate closed, a few tried to escape through the river but most drowned, some tried to attack but were easily cut down, others prayed for their lives and many like Fujin, just stood there completely frozen. Though something started to change within her, instead of cowering in fear, she looked back at the few troops still wanting to fight. " Spears infront! Archers behind! Shielders at the sides! Do not falter! " Fujin had suddenly gotten a rather commanding tone, trying to position the troops right, who simply didn't listen to her, they attacked on their own with loud shouts while Wang Fujin tried to follow them, picking up her scythe and charging forward with them.
She saw Cao Pi's grin when she gotten close to him and right when she should be swinging her scythe, all she could do was standing infront of him, with the scythe's blade on the ground, staring up at him with widened eyes. " How amusing, they send a small child to do their dirty work? And even peasants? What kind of welcome is that for the prince of Wei!? " He suddenly slashed forward, a loud boom followed aswell as several waves of energy, sending Fujin and the rest of the troops back and down on the ground, most were dead before they even hit the floor, some laid severly wounded on the floor while Fujin was trying to keep her conciousness together, looking up at the advancing Cao Pi. She couldn't seem to lift her arm up anymore, nor use her legs to get up... She looked up with horror, thinking to herself. " Please don't kill me.. Please don't kill me..! "
Cao Pi leaned down to grab her by the hair and pull her up harshly by them. " Are you going to beg for mercy? " Fujin was at the verge of tears again, eyes completely shut tight, one hand gripping Cao Pi's hand that was in her hair and almost yanking it right out of her head, she wanted to say something but nothing came out, and Cao Pi took it as a refusal. " Well then, I must praise you despite that it is idiotic to fall for such a pathetic family. Farewell now. "
But before he could land an attack, the second wave of Yuan Shao's forces came from th side, ambushing Cao Pi succesfully, then hearing Yuan Xi's words. " Alright! The peasants have fallen! Now we can rise up! " Something suddenly snapped in Fujin's mind, no longer struggling against Cao Pi and whispered softly to him. " ... Let me kill him. " Cao Pi was first confused at the sudden change of attitude, but then smirked amusing, releasing Fujin and deciding to trust her. " Very well. "
Fujin stood besides Cao Pi, gripping her scythe tightly into her hand, she looked down at the fallen bodies of the innocent, people who not a few days ago worked on the farms, had fun with their children and had a happy family. Her gaze went back up at Yuan Xi, who was seated on his brown horse and Zhen Ji besides him, looking worriedly at her. She had lost her father in war, she had taken care of her family while he passed on to a better world, that much Fujin knew, and that much she needed to know. " Lord Cao Pi, will you assist me? I want him to suffer. " Cao Pi looked at her for a single moment, seeing the furiousity that had taken over her eyes, it only amused him further as his men got behind them " I like the sound of that, I suppose I have nothing better to do here. " And upon hearing his acceptance, Fujin charged forward towards the storming troops, Cao Pi following besides her and the troops behind them, with a roar Fujin stormed right towards the troops.
" YUAN XI! I WILL HAVE YOUR HEAD! "
